PORTLAND, Ore. — Senior staffers of U.S. Rep. David Wu were so alarmed over the Oregon Democrat's erratic behavior just days before the November election that they demanded he enter a hospital for psychiatric treatment, a newspaper reported Friday evening.
The Oregonian, citing interviews with a number of anonymous staff members, reported on its website that Wu was increasingly unpredictable on the campaign trial and in private last fall, and had several angry and loud outbursts and sometimes said "kooky" things to staff around potential voters and donors. The Willamette Week newspaper carried a similar report Friday on its website.

Not to slam folks from Oregon...but based on my time in the state...I’d say that forty percent of the state residents are a bit “odd” to start with.
It takes more than being a crazy drunk to lose your seat in Oregon if you’re a Democrat. He makes a great representative for his district.

As long as he votes the party line, it doesn't matter. He could be the green river killer and he would be in good standing as long as he did the left's bidding and didn't get caught.
I’d say his staffers actually acted under a dereliction of duty. did the leadership know this congressman was cracking up, then they had a duty to report or remove him. The public have the right to know if a loon is representing them.
They tell me that some from the states bordering them call them Oregonisms.

The AP is a Democrat org, just as most of the media is. Something is up here, IMO. Maybe they want a better candidate for 2012?
