Wis. Democrat says return to Capitol unlikely
Associated Press - February 20, 2011 11:45 AM ET
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A Wisconsin senator says he does not believe Senate Democrats will return to work unless Gov. Scott Walker shows a willingness to negotiate on his plan to effectively eliminate union rights for most public employees.
Sen. Jon Erpenbach of Middleton said Sunday he remains at a Chicago hotel. He says Senate Democrats scattered outside of Wisconsin had a conference call Saturday night and remain united in their tactic to try to slow down the bill.
**SNIP**
He says unions agreed to make concessions on health care and pension benefits and now it's time for Walker to back off his plan to take away their ability to collectively bargain for benefits and working conditions.

had a conference call Saturday night
That could be considered illegal.
Sounds to me like they’ve resigned their positions.
In my state WA if you are missing from your job for four consecutive days without any notice, you are considered to have abandoned your job. It is time to call for a special election to replace these bums.
No quorum requirement on non-financial bills.
This should be the schedule of votes starting tomorrow.
Mon - Voter ID law
Tuesday - Right to Work ammendment
Wednesday - Concealed Carry bill
Thursday - tough immigration bill
Friday - pro-life ammendment
Ball is in their court :)
A conference call that violates the sunshine laws.
But then that’s what the left is all about. Their own set of laws that apply only to themselves.
Fleebaggers.
The Flee-Baggers are cowards.
the same unions that would not talk to Walker at all in DECEMBER....the same DECEMBER where the same unions and the Lame duck Dems tried to abuse Special Session rules with a corrupt attempt to pillage the TAX PAYERS of WI????
THE SAME ONES now cry victim of abusive power?
So what, the DNC has been AWOL for 30 yrs. Bet some are looking at a permenant vacation next election.
PRay for America
“Fleebaggers.”
LOL! Hadn’t seen that one yet! :)
You are correct. The only thing the Left understands is power and strength. Then when confronted, they recoil and howl. I’d really like to see the Wisconsin senate follow your suggestion.
By any means necessary.
bump to the top
Yup. Put the blade down, step on the gas, ram it to the moon. Screw ‘em.
Governor Walker should announce that if they are not back by Tuesday, they will be considered to have constructively resigned from office and that a date for a special election to fill the vacancies they created would then be set.
Can they offer a bounty on them?
From the WI constitution:
Meeting of legislature. SECTION 11. The legislature shall meet at the seat of government at such time as shall be provided by law...
Organization of legislature; quorum; compulsory attendance. SECTION 7.
Each house shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members; and a majority of each shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and may compel the attendance of absent members in such manner and under such penalties as each house may provide.
Rules; contempts; expulsion. SECTION 8.
Each house may determine the rules of its own proceedings, punish for contempt and disorderly behavior, and with the concurrence of two−thirds of all the members elected, expel a member;
Recalls have been initiated in several of their districts, so hopefully by Monday it will be all of them. Tomorrow could be a very productive day in Wisconsin for non-fiscal issues.
