President Obama has been accused of having double standards after appealing for Americans to sacrifice their holidays just days before his wife and children went on a costly skiing trip.
First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha are said to be on a 'private family trip' to Colorado for Presidents' Day Weekend...
Although the Obamas will pay for a portion of the skiing trip, taxpayers will still shoulder many of the costs.
'I don't know whether to laugh or cry,' said one of the president's most outspoken critics, conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. 'He's got the single largest deficit in the history of the country and he's trying to tell us that we really cut back here.'

but then again, being around the Wide-load Wookie and all her charm day in and day out would kinda take the lust out of life.
The difference I think is the time, we are in crisis and 0dumbo has told us over and over we have to sacrifice.
When Laura Bush went to Africa she was actually bringing notice to increase in malaria as well as AIDS> I hardly think visiting mozambique’s mosquito infested areas qualifies as a luxury vacation.
The MSM has tried to ginn that trip up to offset manchelles trips, first to spain and now to colo. they don’t get the facts right but that doesn’t stop them
What better place to cool off than a luxury ski resort?
Also, she knows that Bammy need his “Reggie time,” so she takes the girls and skips town, so the boys can be boys.

I have no problems with critical examination of Presidential expenditures. But, I do think hypocritical pettiness is unhelpful. Yes, Laura Bush took vacations. And yes, some of those vacations happened during the recession years between 2001-2003. You can do a simple google search and find her vacations to Mammoth Lakes near Yosemite and to a resort lodge in Washington in 2003. And, those were straight vacations. Laura, like every First Lady before her (and after), also managed to work in some R&R during "official" visits to foreign locales.
This isn't a scam that was crafted by the Obamas, nor will it be a scam that ends with them.
I call her MAO. Me!chelle Antoinette Obama.

The article appeared in a UK paper — people are noticing the hypocrisy — THIS is the point. Obama is telling us to sacrifice, while they are splurging.
President Bush gave up golf after 9-11-2001, so he wouldn’t appear frivolous. The Obama’s have no such concern, they have no problem with hypocrisy.
Its the way communist dictatorships work. The Inner Circle has all the perks. There is no shared sacrifice from the leaders, only the stooges they fool.

Ok, explain this one. Yesterday morning, with Sasha in Vail, CO, Dear Reader (while there was social unrest in Madistan, WI, two Iranian warships zipping towards the Suez Canal, and his administration being held in Contempt of Court over his Gulf drilling moratorium) took a 15 car convoy to the northern Virginia suburbs, to coach his ‘skiing’ daughter’s elementary school basketball team.
Hundreds of LEOs (from Secret Service down to local PDs) had to mobilize for the trip to happen. Thousands of Americans had to be inconvenienced as both road and air traffic was rerouted...so that Barry could pretend to be a big time basketball expert.
Their excess and self indulgence know no bounds.
They threw tantrums everytime President Bush spent time at his Texas ranch. They never mentioned the fact that he took "working vacations."
I think they believe they will live in the WH forever as eventual King and Queen..first King and Queen of American and black in the bargain.
How is that to get even with all the plantation owners of the 1700 and early 1800s before the Civil War.To them that would be sweet justice.
Right, but I'm talking about the hypocrisy comparing MO to Laura Bush. Someone earlier made the inference that Laura Bush didn't take luxury vacations. She did, even during the height of the recession, as every First Lady has, even in troubled economic times. Criticizing this first lady or any first lady while ignoring that this is standard First Family behavior, is hypocritical.

I have no problems with this president, or any president recreating and relaxing. Plus, the guy makes 400K a year (to say nothing about his residual book sales). How many families making 400K annually aren't going to take a vacation or two each year?
