My girl cousins and I were thinking of taking a cruise this summer, both stops of which would have been in Mexico. I checked out both stops, and neither had had any violence associated with drug cartels yet. We decided not to go; most of didn’t have the extra money to do so, but frankly, I don’t think I want to go ANYWHERE in Mexico, even if it’s supposedly safe.

There’s an Honduran island, Rotan I believe, that is already pretty nice.
Some of the cruise ships have stopped going to Mexico.
I begged her not to go; but she is 27 and I can't do much about what she wants to do. I don't think she knows how really, really bad it is there because the MSM simply doesn't report on the stuff going on.

Cancun - Province Quitana Ru... is about the only semi-sorta safe place in Mexico left to visit... But even if I were given a Free Vacation there for a week ... I would not go ... even though I have been there five times way back in the 80’s and 90’s ...
Anyone who goes anywhere in Mexico is just plain STUPID...
There is always Belize, The Bahamas, The Cayman Islands, Porto Rico, The American Virgin Islands, and a dozen other places... WHY GO TO MEXICO — are you just plain STUPID...?
Rotan is a beautiful island, I was just there two weeks ago. One of the few Caribbean islands, I would consider living on, Grenda is another.

I was in Belize also, it is pretty, but really poor and all the police stations have soldiers armed with M-16s standing around. We were told that since there is no longer a civil war, the soldiers are stationed with the police, no reason given why they necessary. Fewer houses with barred windows than elsewhere in the Caribbean and Central America, but am guessing there is nothing worth stealing.

Have you noticed that perky Katie Couric and the rest of her minions will go anywhere but Mexico? More journalists murdered in Mexico than anywhere else.
