Billionaire Brothers’ Money Plays Role in Wisconsin Dispute

Among the thousands of demonstrators who jammed the Wisconsin State Capitol grounds this weekend was a well-financed advocate from Washington who was there to voice praise for cutting state spending by slashing union benefits and bargaining rights.

The visitor, Tim Phillips, the president of Americans for Prosperity, told a large group of counterprotesters who had gathered Saturday at one edge of what otherwise was a mostly union crowd that the cuts were not only necessary, but they also represented the start of a much-needed nationwide move to slash public-sector union benefits.

“We are going to bring fiscal sanity back to this great nation,” he said.

What Mr. Phillips did not mention was that his Virginia-based nonprofit group, whose budget surged to $40 million in 2010 from $7 million three years ago, was created and financed in part by the secretive billionaire brothers Charles G. and David H. Koch.

“This is a watershed moment in Wisconsin,” Mr. Phillips said. “For the last two decades, government unions have used their power to drive pensions and benefits and salaries well beyond anything that can be sustained. We are just trying to change that.”

LOL.

So THIS is B.O.’s big plan? They are going to go after conservative think tanks for opposing out of control spending?

Well, good luck with that, dinosaur Democrats and media! :)

Hey NYT dullards, guess you think billionaires cannot join the frey.

Do the name “Soros” (known in the vernacular as Sh*tos) ring a bell, Obama-holes?

Went to ‘Open Secrets’ to compare donations of Soros and Koch. Funny thing, Soros’ cash is spread out to make it look like it’s not that much unlike Koch donations all accumulated on one page.

So anyone with an opinion contrary to BO, the Socialist/Communist Left and the NYT is not allowed to speak? That doesn’t sound very democratic.

The Koch Brothers are the Anti-Soros. I’ve had a feeling for about a week that they are behind a coordinated effort to reverse Cloward-Piven the unions and overload their resources with legislative fights to point of collapse.

I’m kinda digging that.

On MSNBC the Columbia Professor parroted the same non-sense about the KOCH brothers having ‘bought’ Scott Walker. Since Walker is the son of a Baptist minister and his personal life pure as the driven snow, his enemies need a different way to tar and discredit him. As someone who has met Scott Walker and followed him closely for more than a decade, I can tell you he has been the same person the whole time.

When he was County Executive in Milwaukee County, he said and did the same things, the only difference was the County Board would not completely support his efforts.

How could a guy who is a dyed in the wool conservative win in DEMOCRAT Milwaukee County 9 years ago and be re-elected twice to that office without the support of the KOCH brothers? The answer is he is genuine and not your typical politcian who says one thing and then does another depending on polling data, media pressure etc. The KOCH brothers suddenly ‘discovered’ this guy and then ‘bought’ him off? Please, that does not even rise to the level of plausibility

#84? That far down? Really?
So maybe it’s not the messenger that the ‘Progressives’ are angry about. It’s the message and the Message is the RIGHT one!
