Staff at the state Department of Regulation and Licensing have begun to review roughly 300 e-mail complaints about doctors issuing excuse notes for protesters at the state Capitol over the weekend, officials said Tuesday.

Complaints that name a specific doctor and the alleged violations of rules covered by their licenses will be forwarded to the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board. Letters specifying the complaint will be sent to the doctors at the start of the investigation.

To date, the names of doctors Lou Sanner and James Shropshire have been cited in media reports about the medical excuses dispensed over the weekend. Both are affiliated with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. The agency said none of the doctors involved was representing UW Health at the time.

I do not trust the "internal investigation? by UW Health. But it looks like the "independent" Medical Board is also about to start an investigation, as well.

Al right! I hope there are some consequences to these people. That was such blatant, flat-out, politicized defiance of their professional rules that there is no way they should just be allowed to skate.

They should be punished, but as long as the story keeps going and damaging the Dems reputation, it’s all good.

One has to wonder if the docs who participated by issuing notes were employed by or beholden to the unions (and if they were, they will, I hope, get busted). If they weren’t, they were effing insane to get involved professionally.

“roughly 300 e-mail complaints”

One of them was mine. I hope every one of their licenses is revoked.

I hope so also but the communists corruption machine is rampant. Not a chance of revoking licenses. As a matter of fact they will probably get paid overtime.

to be honest, they really should look at charging them with operating a clinic without a license and not having business permit on public property. I'm pretty sure you need 3 bathrooms to open a business in Madison.

Newbies claiming to be relatives of Lou Sanner are sending threatening FReep mails to posters critical of him.

He will be toast. He is a disgrace to his profession and to his troll family

If it was only UW Health investigating (which is where these quacks work) I think they would be off the hook with a wrist slap.

The fact that the State Medical Examining Board is now involved in an investigation is significant. This Board is where the rubber meets the road. And If I were one of these quacks, I would be very concerned.

I’m sick of being financially taken advantage of and punished by government. I’m going to my doctor, and get a note excusing me from paying taxes.
