Though his win last year was heralded as an early victory for the tea party, Sen. Scott Brown said Tuesday that he doesnt think of himself as part of the movement.
Im a Republican, period, the Massachusetts senator said on MSNBCs Morning Joe. I have respect for the tea party. Im a fiscal conservative I always have been. When you talk about national security, Im a hawk, probably more than anybody that I know in Massachusetts.
On other issues, however, Brown said, Im not a social crusader. Im going to keep an open mind on each and every issue.
Brown has voted with President Barack Obama and Senate Democrats on some pieces of legislation because, as he said Tuesday, when you talk about being an ideologue, if youre looking for one, Im not it.
But Brown said hes not worried about facing a primary from conservatives to his right. If youre talking about a primary for me, hey, nothing wrong with a primary, he said. I welcome all challengers.
Brown is up for reelection to a full Senate term in 2012.

Warning-Politico headline-Warning
No s__t Scotty boy you a f_ing democrat RINO poser loser looking for sympathy from libs
Did I say that to strong?
Say, “Good bye” to any more Tea Party support.
Are we sure this guy is not a Kennedy after all?
Sad I gave this clown a few bucks. I guess he is better than Kerry which “ain’t” saying much.
“I’m a Republican period.” And to think he could have been a
Republican exclamation point.
But, but, but what about all the people right here at F.R. that were hyping him for the presidential ticket? And not that long ago either.
If SB is the best we can get out of the liberal state of Taxachussetts then it’s clothes pin on nose routine as usual with supporting rINO’s in the northleast.
This is news to people?
He represents the people of Massachusetts which is a very liberal state. He was always going to be a very liberal republican.
We were supposed to be excited at the time for two reasons:
1) Break Obama’s super majority in the Senate.
2) Take the seat held by Ted Kennedy.
That was all. Anyone who thought he was going to be anything else needs to get a reality check.
No, he’s not a Kennedy. He’s a bigger loser. Bigger liar.
At least you knew what you were getting with a Kennedy.
Tea Party: We want no part of Scott Brown.
Yes, he seemed to forget about the money pretty quick; wonder where he’ll get it next time?
Sad I gave this clown a few bucks.
I also gave him some money and am still kicking myself. When Sean Hannity asked Brown what he thought of 0bama’s job performance, Brown said “He’s a decent man and his heart is in the right place”. I almost threw up.
FUBO and FUSB!!!
He’s a fiscal conservativer and a hawk. Oh - but he’s not as perfect as everyone else commenting on this post. So it’s 100% or nothing?
Just a wee bit unrealistic, Freepers.
Why not Scott? McCain thinks he is. LOL
Good question... so many are in need of a savior they would cling to the devil if he winked at them.....
never never trust a north east anything......
Typical Northeastern RINO.
