A guy like Walker is (I think) what Im looking for in a chief executive.
Many wanted to jump on a Colin Powell bandwagon a few years ago. After his stint as SoS, they are glad they didn't.
Many wanted to jump on a Condi Rice bandwagon. After she left the White House and reveals some of her true character/positions, they are glad they didn't.
Many wanted to jump on a Fred Thompson bandwagon. After his anemic short run in 2008, many fell off. Others were glad they didn't.
Jumping on bandwagons based on first impressions can be disasterous. For example, many have been wanting Haley Barbour to run as the savior of the Party. After his interview on FoxNews recently, he demonstrated that he was more politician than statesman, as he wiggled around responses to questions.
Many jumped on the Obama Hope and Change bandwagon, and many of those are regretting it.

Who’s jumping on a bandwagon? But the guy shows promise and bears watching. There’s certainly nothing he’s done in his short tenure that has turned me *off*, anyway.
By the way, this proclivity to jump at new talent is IMHO brought about by the sorry lack of much real, experienced leadership in the GOP. When the veterans suck so thoroughly there is a natural tendency to put a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of the rookies.

HOW CAN YOU MISS THIS???Powell, Rice, and Thompson were never "vetted". None had government experience as administrators.
Walker ran the largest county in WI for 8 years, then ran for Governor with a viscious campaign against an entrenched dem/lib/prog/pop party.
Not only did he win, but he carried both the state Assembly and the Senate with him in historic proportions.
Your comparisons are woefully wrong....just wrong.
