Report: NATO may attack Libya if violence continues
Ynet News Israel ^ | 02.24.11, 10:54

NATO forces may attack forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi if the Libyan air force continues to bomb anti-government protesters, the London-based al-Quds al-Arabi reported, citing a European official claiming the US had threatened to intervene in the violence.

The source said NATO and US warplanes stationed in Italy may be ordered to take down Libyan planes, and that electronic warfare against them may already have been implemented. (Roee Nahmias)

The caliphate, IMHO, is a related issue, and served, IMHO only as a springboard for you to launch into an unrelated Beck-bashing episode which, IMO, was offensive because I’ve seen you do this on other threads, too.

That’s my explanation. I don’t want to waste any more of this thread’s space discussing it. I can’t control you and I’ve had my say.

The caliphate, IMHO, is a related issue.

So you agree with Beck (the chief spokesman today for the view you agree with). Fine, let's have a debate on that "related" issue (including the arguments made by its chief champion, Beck) and stop the diversionary tactics. Deal?

You are welcome. Sarah fatigue syndrome came on around the time that she went from a hockey mom into a multi-media extravaganza that knocks on our door every day to sell something, without any invitation.

Her staunch supporters are still out there and here, to be sure, but some posters, like me for example, are beginning to see her as toxic in any presidential race. I’m left with the feeling that she’s maxed out, nothing she can say anymore to woo new people who are not already in her corner.

Also, it appears that criticizing Palin, even meekly, is no longer a fool’s errand, except possibly on these threads.

It's been nonstop Palin for over two years now ... she is way over exposed. This celebrity gig she's on is getting way to old.

My theory is that although Palin was a burst of energy and a breath of fresh air in politics, her views and more importantly her level of understanding on practically any issue seem shallow and not well thought out. Some of us are complex beings with complex views, Palin is a very simple straight forward person - nice look, etc. She talks the talk - over and over again - sort of like Hannity does - it gets old quick.

Very simple people can be very boring in time, not matter how they look. I doubt that anyone, even here, looks at Palin as a teacher, someone that could teacher them something, someone that could come up with new ideas on her own to save America. Unfortunately, someone in the Republican party needs to take her on ASAP to clear the field without freaking out her followers. She simply cannot win.

She simply cannot win.

I support her and disagree with your statements. However I agree that she must prove this in speeches and especially in debates if she chooses to run. The election *can* be hers but she must win it for herself. She must earn it.

lol. You've noticed the outstanding contributions of the UN, home of, Mohammed "Muslim Brotherhood" ElBaradei, have you?

I'd say take it to the UN Human Rights Commission, but since Libya, Iran and Sudan control it, I think our time might be better spent thumbing our collective noses at the UN.

I'd REALLY like the new House members to axe funding for the UN, but I suppose that's a forlorn hope.

In other words, the US will do 98% of the work and the rest of the world 2%. That's the way Uncle Sugar's alliances work out since WWII

I don't want American blood poured out on Muslim sands ever again. Why? So they can stab us in the back? Again??

That’s your right, but she already has a 50% negative rating in some polls - it’s nearly impossible to overcome that.

Also, I just don’t see any depth to her thinking and the way she communicates - it’s all surface stuff - high energy, talking points - same old and tired down-home clichés that are starting to wear thin. There simply isn’t anything behind the curtain. She’s simply a nice looking bumper sticker.

Actually, it would be like voting for your high school cheerleader for POTUS - now, that would be silly.

Don't worry, the general public will handle that issue for us. If you think that there is unrest among the flock now, wait another 10 months, after the campaign starts and the debates get under way. This one will be far worse than 2008.

You nailed it and I’m hoping that a sufficient number of candidates will elect to run to at least show how Palin compares to those that could be a viable candidate, one that can go head to head with Obama and not blink, dwell on negatives or obsess on personal attacks.

Two years ago I was assured by a man who insisted he knew what he was talking about that Obama would patch up our relations with all the countries who were angry because of George Bush’s boneheaded diplomatic bundgling. The Messiah was going to have them all eating out of his hand and doing as he suggested. I’ve been busy lately, did that ever actually happen?

Interesting point - sounds on the money.

If one steps back, takes away the ‘look’ what does one end up with, anyway? Yes, she has the talking points down pat or or less but not much beyond that nothing about what life would be like with Palin as POTUS. Perhaps she would have us all sign up on Facebook and Tweeter to communicate with her?

Look at what she had be deal with in Alaska - she quit due to the hassle and purported impact on the state, but that’s nothing compared to what will happen if she’s POTUS - it would start out brutal and continually worse as time goes by. Would she fold?

Imagine how brutal just her campaign will be, if she even gets that far. She quit her Governorship for less than that.

At any rate, no matter what either of us think, it's time to let time and the American Public handle it from here on out. One thing for sure, the MSM has volumes of controversy all prepared and ready to go; From the issues Palin had as Governor, to her Beauty pageant career. It will be a tabloid extravaganza to be sure and “October surprise” 24/7 the moment she enters the race.

Barnum and Bailey might just as well become her campaign manager and we can't afford this one bit.

If we attack, the Muslims around the world will blame us and there will be a new wave of terrorist attacks on Western targets IMO.

Hit them hard enough, fast enough, and not a chance. Jefferson knew it when we hit Tripoli the first time.
