WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Commerce Department investigation has found no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of federal climate researchers whose e-mails were leaked in the debate over global climate change.
The report Thursday from the department's inspector general is the latest to exonerate climate scientists whose communications with the Climate Research Unit at England's University of East Anglia were stolen and made public in 2009.

I was there. I was in one of the active threads. I remember I tried the superscript thing and mentioned in the thread that mine (word version) was not the same relative verticle position as in the faked docs. Another freeper told me to print it. I did, and it matched EXACTLY.
That event is as imprtant to me as pretty much any non-violent event in the history of politics. I consider it more important than Rosa Parks.
I may be accused of hijacking the thread but you guys started it.
There was a segment on “This American Life” on people’s radio couple of weeks ago about an incident from the late 90’s.
Guy brought out some documents that were very embarrassing to John Kennedy. They were discovered to be fake, mainly because
THE FONT ON THE DOCS WASN’T AVAILABLE ON ANY TYPEWRITER AT THE TIME THEY WERE PURPORTED TO HAVE BEEN TYPED.
Unlike the Rather affair, that was immediately accepted by everyone as absolute proof that the docs were fake.
I remember Buckhead said, 59 minutes after the 60 minutes broadcast, and I paraphrase, “This looks like it was produced in Word.” That, to me, was the first shot fired.
As a matter of fact, the conservatives on the internet were on this thing so fast that some lefties accused us of being the source. :)
Rather was the moment that gave credibility to the internet as a source of valid news and information, and the first paper cut of a thousand cuts to the MSM. They are bleeding out, just as Rather did.
