Offering a sneak peak of the 2012 Republican primary, a spokesman for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Thursday defended the sweeping health insurance overhaul that Romney helped enact in Massachusetts in response to criticism from former and possibly future presidential rival Mike Huckabee.
“Mitt Romney is proud of what he accomplished for Massachusetts in getting everyone covered,’’ said Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom. “What's important now is to return to the states the power to determine their own health care solutions by repealing Obamacare. A one-size-fits-all plan for the entire nation just doesn't work.''

McRomney the designated RINO loser in 12. Huckster and Trump will combine to put the Kibosh on any Conservative. The Dark Horse RINO is Jeb Bush in case Obama looks like a certain loser no matter what.

Sure hope so. I'm sitting here thinking; now that we have processed Dole and McCain as a the GOP candidate, who is the next in-line? Who's the oldest, least innovative, least charismatic, least articulate person in the GOP leadership? Well, that's the person the GOP will nominate for sure.

I live in Mass. and I work for a living. I’m one of the few who does not have a union “shovel supervisor” job where I stand around with my thumb up my &#%! and drink coffee all day. I was also born in America and speak English, so in this State I’m not elegiable for any benefits. If I don’t have medical insurance (which I can’t afford) I have to pay a large fine at the end of the year. The State takes the fine directly out of my tax refund. Why doesn’t the State provide the insurance and take the costs directly out of my tax refund instead of a fine? Because they want the CA$H, not quality care. The care is for the lazy (but politically connected) and the free-loaders who made their way here in an inner-tube. Thank’s Mitt...
I’m from Massachusetts and the mandatory health insurance sucks and is sucking my money to pay for all of the illegals and deadbeats. My premiums have gone up up up and I pay way too much and then at the end of the year I have to file paperwork to prove I had insurance. One year they actually sent me the bill to pay the penalty even though I had insurance and then I had to waste time and effort proving them wrong.

$900. It can vary. It’s based on how many months of the year you do not have “verifiable” health insurance from an “approved” provider.
* Individuals with incomes up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Level are not subject to any penalty for non-compliance, as those at this income level are not required to pay an enrollee premium for Commonwealth Care health insurance.
* Penalties for individuals with incomes from 150% to 300% of the Federal Poverty Level will be half of the lowest priced Commonwealth Care enrollee premium that could be charged to an individual at the corresponding income level, based on the Connector’s Commonwealth Care enrollee premiums as of January 1, 2010.
* Penalties for individuals with incomes greater than 300% of the Federal Poverty Level will be:
Ages 18-26: half of the lowest priced Commonwealth Choice Young Adult Plan premium; and
Ages 27 and above: half of the lowest priced Commonwealth Choice Bronze premium, based on the Connector’s prices for these plans as of January 1, 2010.
* The Department anticipates issuing an updated penalty schedule for tax year 2011.
* Penalties for married couples who do not comply with the individual mandate rules (with or without children) will equal the sum of individual penalties for each spouse.
