Phoenix (CNN) – Which Republican should become the next president? Herman Cain, according to a number of Tea Party activists gathered at a weekend summit in Phoenix. Cain, a conservative talk show host and former Godfather's Pizza chief executive, won the American Policy Summit's presidential live straw poll on Sunday. Republican Rep. Ron Paul of Texas won the summit's online poll. The survey is a chance for conservative activists gathered on the last day of the Tea Party Patriots conference to name their favorite presidential picks. Cain won nearly 22 percent of the nearly 1,600 votes cast.

Who is Herman Cain?

The next president of the United States.

Seriously though, calling yourself a conservative and not knowing who Herman Cain is is like not knowing who William F. Buckley was.

Not many people are talking about Herman Cain yet, but he’s an impressive man. He could make the primary contest very interesting, and at least he’s not dull like some others.

Republican Rep. Ron Paul of Texas won the summit's online poll.

LOL, would anyone expect anything different?

He always wins online polls, but that is never translated into votes at the ballot box.

Very cool!

You do realize that this is all smoke and mirrors to depress Palin support though don’t you? After all she is the only candidate that the MSM fears. /sarc

I would love to see a Herman Cain/Allan West ticket just for the pure entertainment of watching millions of liberal heads exploding all across America.

Liberals couldn’t stomach the notion of two black America loving patriots going up against their Marxist lord and savior.

I was there this weekend but I didn’t vote in the poll. My text message wouldn’t go thru....plus they didn’t have my first choice listed - Allen West. Sure wish he would have won in 2008 so he’d be a more viable candidate now.

There is the chance that Barry has destroyed America’s openness to another black president, but Herman Cain is no Barry, and he would make a fine, capable president. Even though he supported Affirmative Action, he isn’t an Affirmative Action walk on like Barry. He’s the real deal.

I agree, with the exception that Herman supported affirmative action. He supports equal opportunity but is firmly against quotas. He has never been for putting someone in a position based on race or any other status, only qualifications and experience.

I’ll vote for Herman Cain.

I’ll NOT vote for the Huckster, RINO Romney, Newt, or any other existing fossil retard Repulsican.

We need conservatives.

Now.
