CORNERED Colonel Gaddafi's 'lover' has abandoned him in his Libyan bolthole after hearing gunfire from protesters trying to topple his blood-soaked regime. In a sign even his inner circle are deserting him, "voluptuous" personal nurse Galyna Kolotsytska was spirited out of Libya in a clandestine operation.
The glamorous Ukrainian's flight from violence-ravaged Libya will be a huge blow to the tyrant who "cannot travel with out her", according to a leaked diplomatic memo.
The 40-year-old widow was greeted by her daughter Tatiana and mother Irina as she arrived in Ukrainian capital Kiev early this morning by plane along with over other 120 evacuees.
Galyna had earlier told her daughter by telephone from Libya: "There is shooting around here, but I'll look after myself."
Worried daughter Tatiana, 20, said from her Kiev home before her mother fled Gaddafi: "She contacted me after a long silence and said there is shooting and fighting there, just as they show on the TV news."
The student added: "She sounded calm, and she called from her mobile but we could not call her back on it."
Galyna chose to escape the bloodbath in Libya rather than remain at the tyrant's side after he vowed to "martyr" himself as his foes close in.
Ukrainian embassy officials had warned her that if she did not fly yesterday she might miss her last opportunity to flee the country.
Rooftop rant ... Gaddafi pleads with angry Libyans as the net closes on him in TripoliA Ukrainian official said: "We knew she was in danger and we wanted to get her out."
Another escapee said: "On the flight back, she refused to speak about Gaddafi or her feelings on leaving him."
A family friend: "She is happy to be back."
Galyna was a key Gaddafi aide and confidante.
A secret 2009 document to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton released by Wikileaks revealed that the tyrant "appears to rely" on Galyna.
The cable revealed the Libyan leader always travelled with the widow because she "knows his routine".
It added: "Some contacts have claimed that Gaddafi and Kolotnytska have a romantic relationship."
Tatiana said her mother denies that she was Gaddafi's lover but acknowledged they were close.
Galyna admitted that she could be summoned into the Libyan despot's presence at any time of the day or night with only five minutes notice.
Tatiana said earlier that her mother was "upset" by the reports that she is Gaddafi's mistress.
She said: "My mother has certainly never told me anything like this.
"When the leaks emerged she called me saying she was horrified by the rumours and could not understand where this nonsense came from.
"She got upset about it, just like I was.
"My mother is just a nurse who works for Gaddafi. She's earning enough to make a living and support the family."

Galyna originally went to Libya nine years ago to survive Ukraine's economic crisis.
"Her first job in Libya was in a hospital, then she went to work for Gaddafi," Tatiana said. "He does not trust this thing to Libyan people for some reason."
In earlier comments before the revolution began, she stressed: "My mother has a hard job. Sometimes she has to work round the clock. Sometimes she's at home and they call her and say - you are leaving in five minutes.
"He often goes on trips and my mother is always with him, together with other doctors of course.
"By the way, he does not make his people live in a tent. He lives in his tent and his people live in good hotels, often in presidential rooms."
Tatiana admitted: "My mother is one of those people most close to him, who he is communicating with face to face.
"When they go to desert, they settle their tents there and live for a month or two. So it's hard to live and work in such conditions.
"My mother was saying only good things about Gaddafi. She says he's a kind man but that he can be quite strict if it's necessary."
On a visit to Ukraine, the Libyan leader presented Galyna's mother Irina with a personalised Gaddafi watch.
"He thanked her for having such a good daughter and nurse," Tatiana revealed.
"He gave her a present - a watch. Not a golden one but with Gaddafi's portrait - he is the only one who is allowed to present such watch.
"People who wear such watches are those close to him. My mother also has such a watch - he gave it to her as a birthday present."
Before going to work in Libya, she had worked as a cook for Ukrainian scientists in Antarctica.
Nikolai Starinets, 65, who was on the same mission, said: "Galyna was the cook on our South Pole expedition. We worked there together in 1998. She was quite reserved, she seemed even not to need a man for almost a year. "
A neighbour close to the modest Communist-era family flat near Kiev said: "If she has been sharing Gaddafi's tent then the family hasn't done very well from it.
"They live the same as everyone else here - poorly. I think they've only got a watch or two to show for it."
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, ain’t that special.
Hmmmm.....a personalised Gaddafi watch? Man, I’d like one of them.

Oh Noes!

That’s not her.
That’s not her either!
Mom?
We are looking for someone rather zaftig, or rubenesque. About 40 and fair-haired.
Here's a front view. It doesn't look inconsistent with the other picture I posted.
Love is fleecing.
....and someone who could suck-start a MiG-23.
Both the pictures I posted show a bottle blonde. The frontal shot shows a "Rubenesque" woman.
