Agreed- but cuts in Florida have been made in lots of other areas too- our governor has managed to infuriate everyone except tea partiers!

” Gee, I wonder what real, everyday criminals might be thinking “

I’d imagine that they’re envious at seeing larceny openly committed on such a grand scale as they could only dream about...

The possibility that worries me is that the GOP legislators and/or Governor might cave under pressure. What they should have done was split the collective bargaining off from the the funding(a simple majority would do that) part and passed it as separate legislation and they would be done now. One reason I heard for them not doing that is that some of the Senators would not go along. If so they made it more difficult and I question their nerve. We really need a win here.

I’m sure there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of Wisconsin vets who could step in to do peace officer work after the fascist “police” are fired.

“How about photographing these low-life cops marching with their marxist brethren for later identification.”

Just look for the fattest and the dumbest. Look for the guy lecturing everybody within earshot on how he and he alone can or should be allowed access to firearms. Look for the guy talking about “putting his life on the line every day” as he hands out speeding tickets and wolfs down free doughnuts at 7-11.

“They lost at the ballot box and are injecting mob rule, pretending that we have some obligation to negotiate with the mobs.”

Democracy is mob rule and this is an exercise of it.

In a way you can understand the cops’ frustration. Every day they’re out dealing with low life thugs and they see the money being handed out to non-productive sectors in our society.

And so they march in lockstep with the non-productive sectors?

Police power JOINING anti-democratic thugs makes sense to you somehow? Unbelievable.

Did someone not tell them that they and the firefighters are excluded from the legislation reigning in the other unions?

This is going to get ugly. Taxpayers held hostage in the Midwest, how cool is that?

I will think they will not take kindly to being held hostage.

Wisconsin public sector unions were formed 50 years ago as a Wisconsin politically expedient policy. Therefore, Walker can legally disband them at any given time for the same reason: a Wisconsin politically expedient policy.

I wonder what Blackwater would charge to provide security and fire services?

The police union in New Orleans tried to hold the city hostage by going on strike before Mardi Gras about 30 years ago. Parades were moved to the suburbs or cancelled and the National Guard was called in to keep order.

link

Money quote:

"We wanted the folks doing the negotiating to know they couldn't hold Mardi Gras hostage, " said Brooke Duncan, a former Rex and the organization's captain in 1979.

That's exactly what these unions are trying to do to the public:

HOLD US HOSTAGE

Obama’s waiting for that, I think. What happens when Governor Walker orders them out to restore civil order and Obama orders them to stand down?

It may in the end be up to the Sheriffs, as they can deputize, train and equip citizens willing to carry out the law, according to warrants issued.

The Tea Party needs to get demonstrators to the state house in large numbers. The left will never leave unless Walker caves. Many are out of state paid demonstrators. Many others are public union members being paid by the tax serfs to rob them. Governor Walker needs help in the form of citizen soldiers to move into the capitol and push the thugs out.

How can there be hundreds off “off duty firefighters” at all times? Every time I turn on the TV there are hundreds of “off duty firefighters” marching. Looks to me like the fire departments need some massive staffing cuts! My town has a volunteer fire department.
