Foster parent ban: 'no place’ in the law for Christianity, High Court rules

There is no place in British law for Christian beliefs, despite this country’s long history of religious observance and the traditions of the established Church, two High Court judges said on Monday.

Lord Justice Munby and Mr Justice Beatson made the remarks when ruling on the case of a Christian couple who were told that they could not be foster carers because of their view that homosexuality is wrong.

The judges underlined that, in the case of fostering arrangements at least, the right of homosexuals to equality “should take precedence” over the right of Christians to manifest their beliefs and moral values.

In a ruling with potentially wide-ranging implications, the judges said Britain was a “largely secular”, multi-cultural country in which the laws of the realm “do not include Christianity”.

Campaigners for homosexual rights welcomed the judgment for placing “21st-century decency above 19th-century prejudice”. Christian campaigners claimed that it undermined the position of the Church of England.

With that reasoning, no Muslims need apply for adoption either.

If I am reading this right, queers can have foster kids , but Christians cannot?

What a novel thought.

I wonder if the idiot judges realise that probably 3/4 of the foster parents are Christians?

Probably not in England. I'd say the Christian population in England is probably in the range of 10%.

The only reason the judges get away with this type of ruling is because Christians are very passive. The judges know that Christians will not be coming after them the way other groups do (like Moslem's or even militant homosexuals).

Now, now! They didn't say anything about there being no place in the law for Muslims. Indeed, I expect within the next few years for a British court to rule that Sharia Law is very close to British law therefore it's allowed to supplant said British law.

Hmmmmm. Would I rather have a wholesome Christian or an unwholesome gay raising my kids in the event that something happen to me.

Lemme think on that a bit.

Great Britain: Where the wholesome is unwholesome and the unwholesome is wholesome!

They're lost beyond redemption.

“We sit as secular judges serving a multicultural community of many faiths. We are sworn (we quote the judicial oath) to 'do right to all manner of people after the laws and usages of this realm, without fear or favour, affection or ill will’.”

They sit as pathetic, guilt-ridden, self-loathing white fools who are trashing the civilization built by ancestors far superior to them.

At a time when they’re desperate for foster parents. Yup. Brilliant. Leave it to Britain (coming to America soon).

Foster parent ban: 'no place’ in the Magna Carta for Christianity, High Court rules

``JOHN, by the grace of God King of England, Lord of Ireland, Duke of Normandy and Aquitaine, and Count of Anjou, to his archbishops, bishops, abbots, earls, barons, justices, foresters, sheriffs, stewards, servants, and to all his officials and loyal subjects, Greeting.

KNOW THAT BEFORE GOD, for the health of our soul and those of our ancestors and heirs, to the honour of God, the exaltation of the holy Church, and the better ordering of our kingdom, at the advice of our reverend fathers Stephen, archbishop of Canterbury, primate of all England, and cardinal of the holy Roman Church, Henry archbishop of Dublin, William bishop of London, Peter bishop of Winchester, Jocelin bishop of Bath and Glastonbury, Hugh bishop of Lincoln, Walter Bishop of Worcester, William bishop of Coventry, Benedict bishop of Rochester, Master Pandulf subdeacon and member of the papal household,...``

BTW, the Queen of England is head of the church-

Is the Queen of England able to overrule Parliament? -

Technically, she could refuse to assent bills into law

answers.com

Ergo the law is Christian by de facto church and state in one person.

Actually, the judges prefer Sharia adopters.

This would be equally an issue with serious Muslims. But I bet the British courts would, at a minimum, wait until another Muslim in the family complains about the situation, which would be never.

wow. This is one of the most unbelieveable things I’ve ever heard.

So which personally held beliefs are going to be subject to interpretation for the purpose of being disciminated against?

You think Charlie Sheen is a Warlock? OK - you can adopt.
You think its wrong for a central government to force its citizens to purchase health insurance?- sorry no adoption for you.
You like mustard on your hot dog? - 3 months sensitivity training.
You think Soetoro was born in Kenya? - no we shant punish you with a child.

This world is getting crazy.
Prayer and Fasting.

“I guess the King is no longer ‘Defender of the Faith’.”

No, he(she) isn’t.

The new title is “Defender of the Filth”.

That way the Brits don’t have to grind off the “D.F.” from all their old coins.

All over the world, people who shouldn’t be in charge of anything are in charge of everything.

Has it always been thus? Seems to me that “leader” and “dirtball” weren’t always synonymous.
