This is so much bullshit....MY Tax money WASTED on touchy/feely issues that in no way are the business of the Gubmint, but are PURELY moral, social, and family-upbringing issues. The focus on political correctness (aka, accommodating faggots/dykes/cross-dressers/etc.) along with "sensitivity training" and "diversity training", etc., etc., etc. and the causes are rooted in the permissiveness we force and the morality and right/wrong teachings we ban. Now, we wonder why those who live in households WITHOUT FATHERS have no respect for others, have no sense of PERSONAL responsiblities ("Obama gonna take care o' me") and think that we can come up with a Gubmint solution?

Gimme a break.......get out of Family issues, which are not in the U.S. Constitution ANYWHERE, and the Gubmint has no place in the home OR family.

Don’t be deceived ... “bullying” is now codespeak for “not accepting the homosexual agenda, lock, stock and barrel.”

Yup, I was going to make the same comment.
Heckuva a laser beam focus there in the White House. While the Economy swirls around in the toilet due to a Government that refuses to control its wasteful spending; while Union thugs try to establish their position as untouchable parasites at the expense of the taxpayers; and while the Middle East goes up in smoke --- Boy Wonder in the White House wants to make sure we take measures to exult the sodomite...
Get rid of 'Don't Tell Don't Ask' in the Military; refuse to support the Defense of Marriage Act; appoint a poofter as his social director (not that there is anything wrong with that... but the sum of all these events makes one go 'hmmmm...'); and now this so-called "anti-bullying" hoe-down...
wunnerful...

The real aim here is to teach organized bullying tactics to schools in a way that gets buy-in with good intentions. Those tactics are weapons for later use when unions and leftist groups need flash mobs. The children are our future ya know......................

Truth is that it’s the teachers who are the biggest bullies these days, look at Madison.

If you REALLY want to stop bullying...

...quit punishing kids for fighting back against it.

Anti-bullying laws only INCREASE bullying, the same way gun laws increase gun violence.

I’ve worked in the school system for 15 years. When two kids get in a fight, both are punished. Doesn’t matter if it’s a jerk kid who comes up and pushes another one, and the second tries to ignore it or walk away. If the first is persistent, and resorts to physical violence, he KNOWS that he can get the second in trouble just by making him defend himself. At least, that’s the way it works in my state.

So the good kids, who try to obey the rules, can be manipulated by the bad kids, many of whom are just looking for an easy suspension so they can stay home and play Xbox.

Just change the law to protect self defense, and bullying goes away overnight. Even the biggest kid won’t mess with a little scrapper who’s more than willing to fight back. Bullies are cowards, and they’ll move on to an easier target, or just give up on it altogether.

Any other attempt to stop it will just make it worse.

Who are the biggest group of bullies on the planet? What group more than any other wants to run roughshod over the rest of the world? What group of bullies wants to force you to bow down several times a day? What group of bullies demands to tell you how to dress, shave, drink, eat, have sex, think? What group of bullies will cut you head off? Tax you? Rape you? What group of bullies will take not only your life but all your posessions? What group of bullies will take your entire way of life? You country? What group of bullies is welcome in the White House because the chief resident is one of those bullies himself?

that's 100% what this is. if it wasn't - they wouldn't have to specify the reasons for the bullying. so now we will get "bullying hate crimes". awesome.

Gee, I’ve read 30 comments and not one person thinks that bullying is a problem. Maybe it is not a federal problem, but it certainly is a problem. I seem to recall that some of our significant mass murders by teens was influenced by bullying. Several recent suicides especially by young girls have been caused by cyberbullying.

I was bullied for years in Girl Scouts, no less, by 3 girls who were much larger than I was. They even incited about 6 of their friends to join in attacking me to steal something they wanted. Then there were the 4 boys in elementary and junior high who made my life miserable. In later years I realized they probably had fairly miserable home lives. One who often sat near me because of alphabetical class seating often smelled as if he didn’t know how to wipe his butt. So, what was wrong with me? Well, my family was poorer than many, I wore hand me down clothes from a 40 year old friend of my mother’s, and I was smarter than many in the age of Marilyn Monroe. Finally, my favorite teacher (Biology) said, “You shouldn’t let X get you down, he has a pretty sad life. His father is in a wheelchair, and he has to care for him when he get’s home” The next time X made fun of my breasts, I just looked at him thinking, “You poor sad SOB, you have it worse than I do.” He never said a word again.

So, all you 30 commenters, what have you ever done to help someone who was being bullied or are you part of the problem that has gotten so bad that government is been urged by constituents to do something?

This country is going down the drain, and he wants to have a bully summit. The world is on fire and Michelle wants to limit what our children are aloud to eat.
Let's face it. There are two possibilities here. One- Obama is a complete idiot who couldn't lead a Cub Scout troop across the street, or Two- He and his minions are trying to kill this country and the rest of the world.
You may laugh, you may say that's crazy talk, but I really believe that the end times is just around the corner and the darkness is lead by Obama. This is the plan all a long.

I have a novel idea. Why don’t they start each day with an assembly and have a prayer for each student as he or she starts the day. This prayer would be a Christian prayer because Jesus is alive and Allah is not. Besides, we were founded as a nation on Christian principles. If that offends, so be it.
I have been offended countless times by the radical left who have taken away our Christian heritage our founding fathers sought and have replaced it with secular humanism. Now we have guns in the schools, bullying, sexual perversions, and who knows what else. When a student prays, it is very difficult to be angry at anyone. It has tremendous healing power to bring everyone participating together as one body. Think about it.
I know it won’t happen but I am proposing it. Short of that, there’s nothing that will stop the deterioration of our schools. God and God alone through Jesus Christ His son is the answer to every problem faced in the public school system.
