Gee, I’ve read 30 comments and not one person thinks that bullying is a problem. Maybe it is not a federal problem, but it certainly is a problem. I seem to recall that some of our significant mass murders by teens was influenced by bullying. Several recent suicides especially by young girls have been caused by cyberbullying.

I was bullied for years in Girl Scouts, no less, by 3 girls who were much larger than I was. They even incited about 6 of their friends to join in attacking me to steal something they wanted. Then there were the 4 boys in elementary and junior high who made my life miserable. In later years I realized they probably had fairly miserable home lives. One who often sat near me because of alphabetical class seating often smelled as if he didn’t know how to wipe his butt. So, what was wrong with me? Well, my family was poorer than many, I wore hand me down clothes from a 40 year old friend of my mother’s, and I was smarter than many in the age of Marilyn Monroe. Finally, my favorite teacher (Biology) said, “You shouldn’t let X get you down, he has a pretty sad life. His father is in a wheelchair, and he has to care for him when he get’s home” The next time X made fun of my breasts, I just looked at him thinking, “You poor sad SOB, you have it worse than I do.” He never said a word again.

So, all you 30 commenters, what have you ever done to help someone who was being bullied or are you part of the problem that has gotten so bad that government is been urged by constituents to do something?

Normally speaking for myself only, I attempted to separate the parties involved and then would interview the parties involved. If that does not work then, after careful consideration I make a decision on who to punish. Worked with all my children. Sometimes they (my children) even thanked me.

Because 30 posters know that's not the issue. Wake up and smell the coffee. How many times do we have to go through this before you understand that THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH "BULLYING!!!!"

It's a push for homosexualization of school children, nothing more. Learn the language or get bulldozed!

Bullying, in my experience was a double-edged sword. If I had not been picked on I would not have learned about how important it is to contest certain controversial matters at times, especially in my own beliefs later on, it gave me leather skin for one. While I didn’t ask to get picked on, it taught me a great deal about the fact that life isn’t meant to be perfect either. There are decisions that I worked with, and took some flak for, but having understood these experiences before, I understood it pretty well. I
