Busting the Birth-Control Myth (Kirsten Powers Anti-Planned Parenthood???)
Daily Beast ^ | 03/04/2011 | Kirsten Powers

Posted on 03/04/2011 1:24:35 PM PST by Pyro7480

...A 2009 study by the journal Contraception found, in a 10-year study of women in Spain, that as overall contraceptive use increased from around 49 percent to 80 percent, the elective abortion rate more than doubled....

Asked about the “Contraception” study, the Guttmacher numbers and why no women were saying they got abortions due to lack of access to contraception, a Planned Parenthood spokesman emailed this Orwellian response: “I think the biggest barrier is access to affordable contraception.” Huh?

To preserve its federal subsidy, Planned Parenthood continues to claim that without its contraception services the abortion rate will go up. This deception smacks of a fleecing of taxpayers in an effort to promote an ideological agenda, rather than a sincere effort to help women plan families.

What is that ideology, exactly? To find out, you have to dig through Planned Parenthood’s tax forms because the group certainly isn’t going to tell you. According to its most recent tax filing, the purpose of Planned Parenthood Federation of America is to provide leadership in “[a]chieving, through informed individual choice, a U.S. population of stable size in an optimum environment; in stimulating and sponsoring relevant biomedical, socio-economic, and demographic research.”

So it is, in reality, a population-control organization....

Planned Parenthood officials are allowed to believe whatever they want and to pursue whatever goals they choose. But their dishonesty in how they present their organization to the public, along with ignoring basic statistics about their area of expertise, makes you wonder what else they are hiding. It’s also hard to deny that they are at core a blindly ideological organization, not a run-of-the-mill charitable nonprofit.

Whatever you think of abortion rights, this is not the kind of organization that taxpayers should be funding.

This makes sense: As soon as people believe they have a “RIGHT” to sex-without-any-responsibility....as birth control leads couples to think...then abortion becomes expected, as after all, you have a right not to have any consequences from sex, right?

WRONG!!!

Well, let's see now...

Encouraging promiscuity by promoting contraception somehow leads to more "mating"?

Whoda thunk.......

"you have a right not to have any consequences from sex, right?"

Well; the Left refers to this as "women's reproductive freedom" and "women's rights", or the ever-popular "women's right to choose" (of course, not referring to choosing a marital relationship, or not engaging in promiscous sex)

That's what my brother said to me: If you use contraception then you have a kind of moral contract with fate, or the universe, or something, that entitles you to an abortion. Whereas if you don't use contraception, legally you can still get an abortion, but morally you're scum.

Planned Parenthood is a billion dollar business that rakes in 1/3 of its budget from state and federal govt grants. Congressional Dems interrogated banking, energy, health insurance, tobacco, and oil execs — treating them like serial killers. When will Dems finally vote to defund a corrupt industry that has the blood of innocent, defenseless babies on its hands?

PLANNED PARENTHOOD'S RAMPANT GOVERNMENT FRAUD

The US Inspector General found that NJ Planned Parenthood falsified Medicaid claims to get their hands on $2.9 million they were not entitled to.

Planned Parenthood of the Inland Northwest will pay the state $345,000 after settling a 2009 audit that uncovered the clinic used incorrect codes and provided insufficient documentation for some claims billed to Medicaid.

It is estimated that the Spokane PP family-planning organization improperly billed Medicaid more than $629,000 for 333 patient procedures from March 2004 through February 2007. During that time, the clinic collected about $7.6 million from Medicaid.

Planned Parenthood California is under criminal investigation for billing taxpayers high prices for birth control equipment that they obtained on the cheap.

The Picower Foundation, one of PP's biggest financiers, was in cahoots with Ponzi thief Bernie Madoff, and was forced to give back $9B that was apparently part of a money-laundering tax evasion deal that got Picower an unlikely 900% return on investment.

PP is also suspected of aiding and abetting underage sex abuse, and suspected of participating in cover-ups----performing abortions on underage teens who were impregnated by older males, and failing to notify authorities. PP clinicians apparently covered up sexual abuse of underage teens by falsifying federal documents in order to receive federal funds for performing underage abortions. That would be classified as govt fraud.

Planned Parenthood Kansas ignored 164 Cases of Child Rape according to former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline.

===============================================

Obama is the most radically pro-abortion President in US history. Despite his flowery words, all of his actions serve to radically increase abortions in America......and around the world.

Once in office the Obama bloodbath commenced:

<><> He has officially approved the first instance of taxpayer funded abortions under O'Care---his enforced government-run health care program. This is the kind of abortion funding the pro-life movement warned about when Congress considered the bill.

<><> The Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new “high-risk” insurance program under a provision of the federal health care legislation enacted in March. It has quietly approved a plan submitted by an appointee of pro-abortion Governor Edward Rendell under which the new program will cover any abortion that is legal in Pennsylvania.

<><> The high-risk pool program is one of the new programs created by the sweeping health care legislation, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, President Obama signed into law on March 23. The law authorizes $5 billion in federal funds for the program, which will cover as many as 400,000 people when it is implemented nationwide.

<><> “Obama's $160 million in federal funds to PA, will pay for insurance plans that cover any legal abortion,” said Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National RtL Committee. “This is just the first proof of the phoniness of President Obama’s assurances that federal funds would not subsidize abortion — but it will not be the last.”

<><> One of Obama’s first legislative achievements was to include a provision, within the 2009-2010 military budget, prosecuting "pastors who preach hatred." CASE IN POINT Let’s say your pastor preaches on Romans 1st chapter which denounces homosexuality. Someone happens to walk in during the sermon. Then he/she commits a crime against someone who happens to be a homosexual. Not only is the bad guy prosecuted, but the preacher can be prosecuted as well.

<><> Obama got help from Pelosi and Reid for this verbiage.....the first time any president signed such a provision. ACTION PROJECT Ask your pastor if he is aware of this provision, and if, in fact, he would vote for someone willing to send him to jail.

<><> Empowered by Obama, the ACLU Demands NY Investigate Catholic Hospitals Refusing “Life-saving” Abortions........

<><> Obama DOJ nominee Dawn Johnsen saw a great danger to liberty in laws enacted to protect babies in the womb...... it was OK to make such laws to protect the interests of the woman carrying unborn child -- or to protect whatever interest the baby may have retroactively in its fetal existence if it is ever born alive -- but it was not OK to make such laws in the interest of the unborn child itself.

<> Obama characterizes late-term abortionist Dr. Tiller (who was murdered) as a hero and martyr. Dr. Tiller is a bloody, gruesome killer of fully-formed babies (60,000 abortions by his own admission).......who were alive when aborted, who could FEEL THE PAIN of being literally ripped from their mothers' wombs.

What Obama and Michelle Believe re: Aborted Babies Born Alive
FR POSTED http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2253212/posts?page=6

In February 2004, US Senate candidate Barack Obama's wife, Michelle, sent a fund-raising letter with the "alarming news" that "right-wing politicians" had passed a law (prohibiting doctors from stabbing half-born babies in the neck with scissors, suctioning out their brains and crushing their skulls).

Michelle Obama called partial-birth abortion "a legitimate medical procedure. " She urged supporters to pay $150 to attend a fund-raising luncheon for her husband, who she promised would fight against "cynical ploy[s]" to stop it.

BACKGROUND Legislation was presented on the federal level and in various states called the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. It stated all live-born babies were guaranteed the same constitutional right to equal protection, whether or not they were wanted. BAIPA sailed through the U.S. Senate by unanimous vote. Even Sens. Clinton, Kennedy and Kerry agreed a mother's right to "choose" stopped at her baby's delivery. The bill also passed overwhelmingly in the House. NARAL went neutral on it. Abortion enthusiasts publicly agreed that fighting BAIPA would appear extreme. President Bush signed BAIPA into law in 2002.

But in Illinois, the state version of BAIPA repeatedly failed, thanks in large part to then-state Sen. Barack Obama. Obama worried aloud that legislation protecting live aborted babies might infringe on women's rights or abortionists' rights.

In 2003, as chairman of the next Senate committee to which BAIPA was sent, Obama stopped it from even getting a hearing, shelving it to die much like babies were still being shelved to die in Illinois hospitals and abortion clinics.

BAIPA passed in 2005.........after Obama left the Illinois Senate.

Seems there is indeed a glimmer of hope in the darkness if one as blind as Kirsten Powers can have her eyes opened this much against this the most inviolate unholy sacrament of leftist faith.

I've lived long enough to see every promise made by the early contraceptive enthusiasts turn out to be false: the deceptive hope that contraception would reduce unwed childbearing--- false; the foolish notion that contraception would eliminate abortion – false; the truly soft-minded supposition that contraception would make marriages more secure --- reduce divorce--- make husbands and wives more satisfied with their sex lives --- all demonstrably false.

So even the "consequentialism angle doesn't work out.

But few are clear-sighted enough to see the obvious.
