Saudi security forces to crack down on any unlawful protesters

(CNN) -- Coming off two days of demonstrations, Saudi Arabia's Interior Ministry warned Saturday that it would crack down on protesters who continue to take their grievances to the streets.

Saudi security forces will be "authorized to take all measures against anyone who tries to break the law and cause disorder," the ministry said, according to the country's state-run news agency.

An outspoken Shiite prayer leader who demonstrators say was arrested more than a week ago was a focal point of the "day of rage" protest, said Ibrahim al-Mugaiteeb, president of the Human Rights First Society.

Sheikh Tawfeeq Al-Amer was arrested Sunday after he gave a sermon two days earlier, on February 25, stating that Saudi Arabia should become a constitutional monarchy, human rights activists said.

This is just as big a deal as threats from Sunni extremists. Most of Saudi oilfields are in eastern province of Saudi Arabia. It was Shiite land before Sunni Saudis took over and expelled many of them. If Shiites rise up and take over eastern provinces, so goes the control of oilfields.

The “Day of Rage” is March 11th. It is trying to be organized through social media. etc.. Our generation will be forever changed should it go the way of Egypt. This is uncomfortable to say the least.

Nothing new here. Throughout the ages Muslims have always settled their differences at the end of a sword. Makes no difference whether it be with each other (Shiite vs. Sunni) or with us “infidels”. And with Iran bank-rolling and facilitating the Saudi uprising it’s bound to get worse before it gets better.

Most of Mideast oilfields are located along the line starting from eastern coast of Arabian Peninsula to Iran-Iraq border and some stretches into western shore of Caspian Sea. All are very close to Iranian border. The likes of Ahmadinejad may dream that all of them are within their reach and act on such a dream.

Saudi police chased and detained a local man for allowing his wife to drive the car while he was sat next to her, a newspaper reported on Sunday. Surprised residents called the police when they saw a woman driving a car through the streets of the eastern town of Khobar, Facenews said. “Police chased them and caught the two at a petrol station…they detained them and later they released the two after forcing the husband to pay a fine.”

Women are banned from driving cars in most areas in Saudi Arabia, one of the most conservative Moslem nations.
