The liberal campaign against SCOTUS conservatives

Still reeling from a 2010 Supreme Court ruling that opened the door to an explosion of political ads from corporate interests, and fearful the court could overturn President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul, liberal groups have launched an aggressive – and at times personal – attack on the court’s most conservative justices.
The sharp questioning of the impartiality and ethics of Justices Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia and to a lesser extent Samuel Alito represents the most concerted attack on a bloc of justices since the early 1970s, when conservatives waged a long campaign against the liberal justices of the Warren Court, most notably Justices William O. Douglas and Abe Fortas.
Thomas and Scalia have been accused of undermining public confidence in the court by engaging in partisan politics and making decisions that could benefit the political and financial interests of their family and associates. And both justices have faced calls for the Justice Department to investigate alleged conflicts of interest and possibly to invalidate their votes in the 2010 decision on political spending, Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission. One low-profile liberal watchdog group last week even asked the Missouri Supreme Court to disbar Thomas. Alito has been criticized for speaking at fundraising events for conservative groups opposed to Obama’s agenda. Only Chief Justice John Roberts, the fourth staunch conservative on the court, has been relatively immune from the same kind of criticism.

But we’re supposed to wring our hands when certain republican representatives call the Obama administration ‘gangster’.
But nothing against the Wise Latina and the Wise Lesbian?
She’s not officially lesbian.
When she was nominated, the administration pressured the MSM to rescind stories which had stated that she was openly gay. News organizations scrubbed their sites of any reference to Kagan and lesbianism.
And it was decided that her “orientation” would not be discussed. Even openly lesbian anchor Rachel Maddow didn’t disclose this during the nomination process.
If we’re supposed to be “out and proud”, “we’re here, we’re queer” and all that, why didn’t the homosexual community want to take pride in the first openly gay Supreme Court justice?
I guess we’ll see if she ever comes out officially. But if we’re supposed to be all into the gay pride thing, why was this subject censored?
As always... the street of tolerance is always one-way.
If 0bama can call us “Teabaggers” with no evidence, can we call Justice Kagan a “Carpet Muncher” since at least we have some evidence?
No, I think pejorative terms can only be used against conservatives. I don’t think we’re allowed to say such things against a good liberal.
I think in Kagan’s case, the liberals are just daring anybody to say anything about her. The conspiracy of silence is in place, and response will be swift if anybody brings up the subject of her “orientation”, which liberals have told us we should be proud of.
And don’t forget the lessons of Tucson and all that. Civility is to be adhered to, or at least conservatives are commanded to be civil. (sarcasm)
They can scream all they want. I don’t think they can force them out. They’re in it until they decide they no longer want to be.

I think I felt a tingle up my leg.
Disbarring Thomas wouldn’t mean a thing. You do not need to be a lawyer to be a SCOTUS Justice.
But Alan Grayson? Nawwww . .dont request him to be disbarred. After all Republicans want to kill old people. Nothing outrageous or unprofessional about that.
Well, for the same reason that Hillary has never openly admitted to being a lesbian. It would kill her chances to get elected to anything. And it would have undermined Clintbilly while he was in office.
She already has the gay vote, and doesn’t want to lose any others who might vote for her.
For that matter, why doesn’t Barry openly boast about his gay activities? Because it’s not yet time, in his view, to take the beard off.
I would hope that 1-2 or more of the “liberal” judges on the court are less than pleased at the antics of the administration and his corrupt followers.

What would it matter if they did that? Who says justices even have to be lawyers? All they have to be is nominated and confirmed. Once they’re in, they’re in, and the only redress is impeachment.

Why not? Everyone else has (if there was ever a lesson in the first place).
