Westboro attorney: Obama, justices going to hell
Politico ^ | March 6, 2011

The attorney who won the Supreme Court case last week affirming the Westboro Baptist Church’s right to stage anti-gay protests outside military funerals suggested on Sunday the high court’s nine justices are going to hell.

“I have no objective indicator otherwise. The default for mankind is hell unless you bring forth fruits meet for repentance. The assumption is that you will end up in hell when you quit your life on this Earth,” attorney Margie Phelps said during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.” Phelps is the daughter of Westboro’s founder, the Rev. Fred Phelps.

“There is a duty of every human to bring forth fruit meet for repentance,” she added. “I have seen no evidence of that in a single leader in that nation.”

“So the justices are going to hell? The president is going to hell?” asked Fox host Chris Wallace.

“Absolutely on the president," Margie Phelps replied. “The president is going to be king of the world before this is all said and done, and he is most likely the beast spoken of in the Revelation.”

Ded Kennedy is saving him a place on the flight to a holiday in Cambodia.

I was wondering who would be the first to catch that and post.

Funny thing though, with the FOIA request of Kennedy's tours of commies in South America, we know he would have loved to do a holiday in Cambodia and interview Pol Pot for suggestions on how to better run our country.

“and he is most likely the beast spoken of in the Revelation.”

Hard to argue with that one sentence. Otherwise they are a bunch of nutjobs from Hell.

or the church of the New Coke - since it’ll be around forever. I hope we can agree on that if you’re going to bring bill Cosby into the mix anyhow. /puddingpop

If

(1) the Supremes truly believe in what the SCOTUS has ruled in the past about “community standards” and “constitutional limitations” on “free speech” rights concerning pornography,

then,

(2) given that the Phelps church can, legally and legitimately take their “protest” to a “publicly permitted” venue - a public venue the local authorities give them a permit for (which would not limit “speech” but only its venue - which is often the case when it comes to the government’s own property)

then

(3) certainly NO LESS than “community standards” should be allowed to keep them away from the funerals of our fallen soldiers.

And besides, what is more “pornographic” than the extremist view of the Phelps-church cult??

have nothing to do with Christ

Evidently they have no claim to the name Baptist according to two Beptist ministers last night on the local tv news.

I say that meaning other Baptist congregations do not recognize them as anything related to the Baptist faith. One comment was “they are not a church”.

That’s true but the media doesn’t know that. Both the media and Westboro are dupes for Satan.

Baptists are not automatically Christians, just as any other denomination is not. No one is. Nothing is automatic. Being a Christian involves having a personal relationship with Christ. It’s a personal decision and a personal relationship and being part of a “church” - any church - is no cover. Christ saves individually, not “en masse”.

Very true, but I admit to having a great deal of difficulty being “sad” over the fate of the 9/11 terrorists who are reaping the fruit of their evil as we speak and will be doing so for all eternity. Perhaps that’s wrong of me, but I can’t help feeling a sense of satisfaction over their fate.

They could attempt to affiliate themselves with the American Baptists or the Southern Baptists if they so chose. Not sure about the former, but fairly certain they’d have a hard time being allowed to send messengers to the SBC Convention. Don’t think anyone they sent would be seated.

She said that those women had to be out of the way for Fred Phelps to become what he’s become, which if you assume that they were decent human beings, might just be true, but she said it in such a way that just proves what a heartless and soulless bunch the Westboro beasts are.

“...many unsaved look at a woman like this and say all church people are the same.”

This is the key.

This is why no one stops these evil false Christians. This is why they are allowed to continue. To mock Christ and His followers.

They sound and appear very cultish. Jesus would never be like these people. We are to emulate Jesus, be just like Him. I don’t know where these people get the idea they are like Jesus at all. They are the exact opposite of Him.
