He paid out of his pocket to get the animal moved to a more suitable climate - good for him.

BTW - Bob served as a Marine fighter pilot in WWII, then served as a test pilot.

He has his own axe to grind, but does at least he grids it with own dough!

This was a good act, but he is not one I will ever admire.

He gave more to fight whaling, I guess he views them more important than vets.

He has gone after other smaller venues of animals like Edmonton, but Polar Bears in LA, California are never mentioned by him.

I thought his slams of the Anchorage Zoo were very undeserved and he will always have a blackmark from me.

Bob Barker was not, I repeat not a Marine!

He was a junior officer in the U. S. Navy and trained to fly Corsairs. The war ended before he went to sea.
He served post-war as a naval aviator in the United States Naval Reserve until circa 1960.
