Kept all my stuff in a bag in my file cabinet when I was at University..

From the Dems letter:

Although we strongly support efforts to reduce costs in the federal government, it is our understanding that the cafeteria operations generate profits for the House – an estimated $879,000 for 2010. Any costs associated with composting or any of the other environmentally sound options were always meant to be offset by these profits. Those of us who are concerned about the health and safety of Members, staff and visitors feel that this is certainly a worthwhile use for these proceeds.

So they admit that composting and recycling cost more, but won't say how much more than traditional disposal methods.

Democrats are whining children.

Boehner should send a note back that they shouldn’t eat the cups.

“Tonight’s Topic: The Styrofoam Cup. Modern convenience,...or Devil’s chalice?”

From an old “Newhart” episode.

To: I still care

‘I hate the paper ones.’

Ditto.
I dislike drinking out of paper, plastic, foam, whatever.
Give me ceramic, glass, china, or a thermos of stainless steel (NOT Aluminum)!
It’s what we all used before these ‘lazy’ inventions!

Think too many nice functions use foam which makes for a less than appealing presentation.
When I’m expecting foam, and the hosts are using ceramic, I’m absolutely thrilled! (Doesn’t take much, huh)?!

We have become LAZY and in a huge hurry, thus the throw-aways. If you need/want one - fine.
Also, anything but china or ceramic cups are too tipsy - bah!

Okay for you - not me!
Same for the spouse.

And lastly, we believe there are material/ingredients in common products that are not healthy.
I realize liberals are accused of beliefs like this, but that has been (along with other non-tradional beliefs) our beliefs for all our Conservative years!

Since the ‘70’s, we have been against fluoridating drinking water, for one, and we’ve finally been exonerated with the latest findings of mottled teeth because of too much fluoride.
Mottled and brownish teeth from fluoridated drinking water were visible years ago - saw them in the ‘60’s.
Leave our drinking water alone!

Oh! There’s a humorous song from an obscure Broadway musical which featured actors 70 and over. Song is ‘Coffee In A Cardboard Cup.’ Decrying coffee in a CARDBOARD cup!
Daughter taught it to a bunch of home schoolers, and along with other show tunes she taught, performed this for 3 summer nights last year in their backyard!
In full costume and makeup.
‘Backyard Broadway,’ it’s called!
