President Barack Obama isn't afraid to show a little hometown pride, especially when it comes to sports.
On Wednesday night, Obama will continue that tradition while watching the Bulls-Bobcats game at a viewing party at the White House.
And this is just the latest event Obama is dedicating to his Chicago teams.
At 2 p.m. Friday at the White House, Obama will honor the Blackhawks for their 2009-2010 Stanley Cup victory. The president invited the team to Washington, D.C., for a ceremony and a children's street hockey clinic on the South Lawn.
Obama's allegiances seem clear. Remember the 2009 MLB All-Star game? Obama threw out the first pitch wearing a black White Sox training jacket. The toss cleared the plate, with a little help from St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols.
Earlier this year, Obama predicted a win for the Bears in their post-season game against the Green Bay Packers.
His team didn't win -- but it's the thought that counts, right?
The Bulls tip off against the Charlotte Bobcats at 6 p.m. central time.

It’s good to be the king!!!
I was thinking the same thing! Get this guy a fiddle and a toga!
Bull viewing? No way, it is a BULL SPEWING PARTY!
Seriously, I am with you, cannot comprehend why he doesn't slip further in the polls. Was discussing a little with my husband last night. A couple conclusions we came to are that, for all the people who pay no taxes or who have no assets, are dependent on government programs: they have nothing to lose by going along with him. They expect their hand-outs to continue, they have no fear of dropping real-estate values, their business taxes will not go up, and they don't have retirement savings that they fear will be ravaged by a crashed economy or stolen by the government for redistribution.
So, as the number who just get money from the government and have none of their own, grows (easy to happen in this economy), you have more and more people who have nothing to lose by supporting him. Sad reality. Surely it is more complicated than all that, but I think that is a big part of why he remains popular.
Is this all the Obamas do, party, shop, play golf, drink, vacation?
Send them packing. Besides the Clintons these two are trailer trash.
Without seeing the guest list, I’ll bet it will be really
dark in the room and at least 9 of the guests will have the
last name Shabazz.
The diode portion of his laser-like focus has obviously burned out.
I read yesterday that 30% of the people in the America these days are subsisting on income redistributed by the government. To that group, involvement in politics starts and ends in "how will this guy's/gal's policies effect my check?"
The rest of the time? Bread and circuses, nachos and football, what's on the tube? Where's my MTV?!!
It makes me want to weep for shame.
Only Catholics and Orthodoxers celebrate Ash Wed. Then again, you don’t get many non-Catholics in Smellcaucus I guess. ;)
You have no idea what you are talking about Clemenza. I am Protestant and we celebrate Ash Wednesday. Get a grip and get your facts straight. Ok, if he is Christian and not Catholic, then what is he???????????????
