Ironic that Wisconsin is the state Joseph McCarthy represented.

Yep, that was the right question. Great point.

One of the promises of our nation is that we can improve our lot immeasurably by sheer desire and work ethic. I am not the wealthiest guy around, but I do okay. I don’t want the government to set up road blocks so that I or my kids can’t attain all that I or their efforts can reap for me or them.

I grant the wealthy or anyone else, a free pass for advancing themselves. I expect them to do the same for me.

God forbid our nation turn into a hell-hole that doesn’t recognize this principle.

My wife and I watch the Food Channel and HGTV quite a bit.

We watched the past losers on Chopped last night, and recorded the All-Stars program tonight due to your mention.

Thanks.

Ah, I see you have a mean streak. LOL

Take care bud.

Did you by any chance see the 24 year old cutie on Iron Chef the other night that took on Bobbie Flay? (sp?)

Wow, she was excellent. The secret ingredient was mozzarella cheese.

She got around 48 points vs his 52. At 24 she showed a heck of a lot of savvy. I was very impressed.

I don’t know, Norm...I lived in Madison during the Viet Nam war...there was a lot of this SAME crud going on then, too...

Nope.

Not lowering ourselves to their level.

May God give us strength.

Gov. Walker has given them MORE than enough time and notice. And yes, I would agree that that specific action/request served as notice that it was his intention to enact legislation. (Perish the thought!!) sarc/tag

Incredible. They just take their ball and bat and go home. This whole scene portends very poorly for 2012.

May God give us strength.

I think they are arguing something along the lines of a piece of legislation has to be available for 12 or 24 hours for review. The Republicans only allowed 2 hours.

They are grasping at straws, but this is what they are claiming.

Agreed.

If the fleabaggeres were given 12 or 24 hours, they'd want 12 or 24 days. The law says only appropriate notice... 2 hrs is enough time to get to Madison from Rockford, IL. Had they notified the Committee they were on their way back, they might have gained more time. But they knew, if they had shown up, all the appropriations would have been included, making them look like the idiots they are.

So I wonder if dozens of phone calls went out late last night to the homes of WI assemblymen, with messages that those assemblymen will stay home or be likely to witness their wife or son having an “unfortunate accident”.

I wouldn’t be one bit surprised. Not one bit.

"As I have been watching the Wisconsin and Indiana protests, I think the Tea Party needs to adopt union tactics. The Tea Party was too politely organized and respectful. Tea Party 2012 go raise hell! Push, shove and get in their faces. Scream, shout and refuse to leave your posts. But, keep your honor by keeping the property clean."

Yes, as distasteful as confrontational demonstrations are to conservatives, we must take back the streets from the leftist goons. Obama, the unions, and their allies are seeking to recreate the 60ies. The police have shown that their greater loyalty is to their union brothers. We must take back control of our own destinies and help ourselves. Wisconsin is a laboratory for tactics that will be used in the 2012 Presidential campaign and election. If not stopped, violence and intimidation will be used to assure Marxists laws and policies and Obama's reelection.

I think the assembly and senate should meet somewhere else for their own safety, but not before the National Guard arrives and surrounds the place and keeps the thugs several hundred yards away.

Yes. If these are all “teachers,” don’t they have to be in school this morning? Have they called a teachers’ strike?
Don’t they have to work on their lesson plans and grade papers?

I wouldn’t call it lowering ourselves. Quite the opposite, it is time we stood up to them. Are we going to take back our country sitting down?
