(Fleebagger) Miller says time for Dems to come home and take fight to ballot box

One day short of the three-week anniversary of their departure, Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller said it's time for Dems to come home and take the fight over collective bargaining rights to the ballot box.

Miller, D-Monona, said it was "stunning" that Senate Republicans took less than 30 minutes to vote to end collective bargaining rights for public employees that have existed in Wisconsin for more than 50 years.

He called it a disrespect to the people of Wisconsin that will not be forgotten, promising there will be political consequences.

"It’s time for us to join the fight back in Wisconsin," Miller said. "It’s now a political fight that will be decided at the ballot box."

Sen. Bob Jauch, one of two Dems to be actively involved in negotiations with Republicans, said there may be legal problems with the vote and Senate Republicans had a responsibility to inform the public of any changes.

"This just isn’t the way a thoughtful democratic institution governs," said Jauch, D-Poplar. "They don’t want to govern.

"We’re trying to figure out whether we should change it to Czar Walker. I think that’s the term. The Senate should be called the Evil Empire."

Sen. Jon Erpenbach, D-Middleton, said the vote exposed the true Republican intent all along of breaking public employee unions. The guv has been arguing the last few weeks that the collective bargaining changes were fiscal in nature, but leaving them in suggests that wasn't true, he said.

He said Republicans didn't need to justify themselves to the 14 Dems, but would have to answer to the voters through recall elections.

"They lied to every single taxpayer of the state," Erpenbach said.

I think every one the Senate Republicans are ready willing and able to join this fight. They are not the ones who fled the state to avoid a "fight". And while Mark Miller may be a mental midget otherwise he may be right about this having "political consequences" - they just might not be the same kind he is envisioning.

Except for the lack of four-letter words, the whining and empty threats from the RAT caucus sounds just like what I read on the DUmp earlier tonight...

The fleebaggers are just looking stupider by the hour the longer they keep up their temper tantrum. Walker has taken the wind out of their sails, the bluff out of their hand - they are idiots if they think they have some secret weapon by “staying away.” I hope they do. It will be their supreme undoing.

The fleebaggers don’t get it.

there was already a fight at the ballot box. IN November 2010. When you went from a majority to a minority.

The fight at the ballot box took place, and you got your ass pounded. You jsut don’t get it. The people threw the fleebaggers out. They just refuse to recognize it.

Reality sucks for fleebaggers.

Just how cowardly is THAT? (The fines must be hittin' 'em in the old pocketbook.)

You know it and I know it - and the people of Wisconsin know it because they’re the ones who flipped both houses of the state legislature from D to R, elected a strong conservative governor, and kicked Rusty Feingold, patron saint of all things liberal, to the flippin’ curb!

But the Fleebaggers don’t know it because they’re still living in their little bubble, and probably have been since November.

They’ve called Madison “25 square miles surrounded by reality” for years - and for a good reason.

Right. A thoughtful institution that wants to govern runs away and hides in a hotel in Illinois.

Amen. Greta had one of these losers on her show tonight. After he went on for minutes how democracy was stolen, Greta asked how could it be stolen when there was just a fair election. He literally stumbled through a bunch of gibberish. He had no rebuttal. These jokers are done. I just wish Walker would have done this a couple weeks ago.

I think that Walker should hold off signing the bill and wait to see if they can get a quorum in the Snnate. Then push the budget bill that the fleebaggers skipped town over never signing the bill that was passed today. They can scream all they want but there will not be any legal challenges to today’s bill if it is not signed into law. Just get their worthless butts back into town and back on the job.

Actually, I think it’s better that it had a chance to play out a bit. They have totally and completely exposed themselves. We now have soundbites and videos galore a plenty.

Seems to me they could do that - once they have a quorum. Sort of a rope-a-dope...and boy, do they have the dopes.

One day short of the three-week anniversary of their departure, Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller said it's time for Dems to come home and take the fight over collective bargaining rights to the ballot box.

Only because they got their asses handed to them on a parliamentary maneuver. It's game on in Madison now and a huge win for Governor Walker.

Translation: We are going to pull out every vote fraud trick in the book to cheat on recall elections.

I don't feel disrespected. And I won't forget the truant Senators at election time either. What deranged fantasy world are these Senators living in? DU?

The chutzpah of Democrats never fails to amaze me. They ran off to IL to shut down the business of the Senate and then spent 3 weeks trying to blackmail Republicans into following their agenda and, still, they think they have the right to lecture about integrity and morality.

I’m glad they got slapped.
