They claim it’s all part of the plan. But still. The Nixon Center, an institution founded by President Richard Nixon within his own presidential library just three months before he died in 1994, has dropped “Nixon” to become the more generic “Center for the National Interest.”

This is really sick. A few years ago the Nixon Library invited John Wesley Dean (yea, the snitch) to speak at an annual bash there. It was explained that the leadership of the center had been penetrated and then taken over by liberals who hated Nixon. Sort of like how the media has been toppled by the left.

Such institutions seem to be favorite targets of the Left. Once in control, they get to do what they love best - spend other people’s money.

It’s a manifestation of O’Sullivan’s First Law— Any institution that is not explicitly rignt wing will drift leftward over time.

I wouldn’t exactly call Nixon a member of the Right.

L. v. Mises, Human Action, ch. II, 10

Guess where we would place Keynes on this scale of evaluation – servile scribbler or a thorn in the side of autocrats? It’s not even necessary to say it – after all, he said himself that his work is best suited to a totalitarian system (the passage in the German version of the foreword reads: ‘Die Theorie […] kann viel leichter den Verhältnissen eines totalen Staates angepasst werden, [...]’ – which literally translated means, ‘The theory […] can be better adapted to the conditions of the Total State, etc.’).

Unless one is pining for the ‘Total State’ one should perhaps consider forgoing the Keynesian recipes. Just saying.
