MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell on Thursday brought the specter of bigotry into Representative Peter King's hearings on the threat of radical Islam in America. While interviewing Congressman Dan Lungren of California she awkwardly hinted, "Well, you know, you and I are both white."

It comes from their fellow liberals. At some point, they sign on as liberals and they accept it all, lock, stock and barrel.

White?

Is it "racist" when tens of millions of Muslims in Turkey express their distaste for a new "Islamist (political Islam, Sharia Law) Turkey?

The "old" secular Turkey v. the "new" Islamist Turkey

Is rejecting Islamism (political Islam, Sharia Law) Islamophobia? Let's look at what authoritative sources have to say about the change to Islamism (political Islam, Sharia Law) .. Muslims!

Taboos in the press and public "in the old [secular] Turkey were the Kurdish and Armenian questions. In the new Turkey they have been shattered into pieces. There is freedom of expression now to address radical views on both. However, taboos of the new [Islamist] Turkey are the religious Fethullah Gülen movement, the corruption of the ruling Justice and Development Party, or AKP; the powerful and their close relatives… If anyone makes a news story on them s/he is dead meat.

"In the old Turkey books were banned, collected and burned, but in the new Turkey authors are being arrested during the writing process of books.

"In the old Turkey . . . ."

So.. Islamists (AK Party and the Fethullah Gülen movement) are converting secular Turkey to a Iran-like Islamist republic. Tens of millions of Turk Muslims do not like it.. are they McCarthyites?

BTW, the Fethullah Gülen movement is run by a U.S. citizen in Pennsylvania Fethullah Gülen.

...where does this white liberal guilt come from?
From deep inside uptight liberal sphincters?

Or were you serious and that wasn't a rhetorical question?

After MLK died, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton took over and found their way to make a living off this, and their sheep found it to be very profitable for them as well.

If you are a Democrat, it is just in the rules and it relieves themselves from having to think.

News flash for Miz Mitchell...the peoples of the middle east and Indian subcontinent are considered to be Caucasian. Their skin may or may not be pale, but they are of the Caucasian race. From Wikipedia: The term...has been used to denote the general physical type of some or all of the populations of Europe, North Africa, the Horn of Africa, West Asia, Central Asia and South Asia. Historically, the term has been used to describe the entire population of these regions, without regard necessarily to skin tone.

Fashion. Fashionable thought. It’s whatever the media and the educational establishment say is upper-class and superior and elitist to think.

People who live by TV and the movies will think or maintain anything they are told is upper-class.

It has nothing it all to do with ‘white guilt’ etc. because that assumes a genuine emotion. People who live to climb up the social ladder don’t have emotions, they have aspirations.

I have to ask the people on the board their opinion...where does this white liberal guilt come from? (schools, parents, media, etc.)

You already know the answer. It was all three, I suppose.

From liberal parents (conservative parents being unafflicted).

From public schools, especially at the college level and, in particular, the colleges of education (thank you William Ayers).

Constantly reinforced by the mainstream media (which conservatives have learned to ignore).

If the eventual outcome of these stimuli was to create a liberal, then white guilt was just part of the package (along with a pernicious hatred for capitalism, an insidious anti-Americanism, a yearning for big government a latent taste for totalitarianism).

The irony is that their white guilt actually manifests itself as a soft bigotry -- "blacks can't make it on their own", etc.

Liberalism and its hand-maiden -- political correctness -- have created a generation of guilty whites.

And the sad part is, it's hard-wired in. You can't have a meaningful discussion with them on any area of disagreement.

Before the sixties, I really don't think this kind of American existed. Liberalism is a weapon fabricated by our Cold War enemy and, in the sixties, it was injected into the American bloodstream like a deadly bacillus.

Fortunately, it wasn't universally contagious...

I’d say mostly from universities. I remember having a “Cultural Diversity” requirement. Basically we all had to take a class about how evil white people are. Got that over with my first quarter. Then there’s a racial incident at my university and the BSU starts demanding that everyone be required to take ethnic studies classes. My first thought upon hearing this: “No, it can’t be! I’ve done my time!”. Fortunately their demand was not put in action :)

Andrea, if a radical muzzie cuts your head off, don’t take it too serious like Daniel Pearl did.

I’m sure her geezer husband, Alan Greenspan, thinks she’s a hot young thang.

LOL
