I always hate it when they do not put a picture of the artifact with the story. Just a pet peeve.

Years ago I read a book about the Mitchell-Hedges crystal skull and if I remember correctly, they mentioned that there were some crystal skulls that had been manufactured in germany back in the 1800s. The author was comparing the Mitchell-Hedges skull with the german ones to illustrate the superiority (crystal quality, anatomical accuracy, etc.) of the former.
