I called about 10 congresspeople from all over (not my state, since Chris Murphy is my Congressman and he’s a hopeless lib). I got a list of the Freshman Republicans and just started calling...left messages that although I am not a constituent, I AM an American who doesn’t want socialized medicine, and to vote NO on the continuing resolution. And not only that, but to stand and FIGHT and not cave in to the “business as usual” types in DC. Told them to remember why they’re there. It would be great if everyone took 10 names of the new congresscritters and called them...just to remind them why they’re there (and who they work for). It’s a good thing the 105b “stealth” funding was brought up on Hannity tonight.
If Obamcare becomes another permanent entitlement program, and kills off the insurance industry, it’s game over and “Logan’s Run”.
If the GOP thougt the Democratic townhall meetings were nasty, they ain’t seen nothing yet!!! Simply having sybolic votes and nipping at the edges isn’t enough....hoping that the SC will strike down Obamacare is not enough....hoping they’ll get the house/sentate/WH in 2012 is not enough. They must be bold and NOW.
If they fail, you might as well forgo elected government and call it a night. The legions of Tea Party supporters will bolt the GOP. In 2010, we sent checks, manned phone banks and walked the streets. If it’s all for not...if all we’re gonna get is symbolic votes and lip services then why make the effort when the GOP comes a calling for money and volunteers???
I’ve called my senators and congressman and I’m getting is form letters and glib responses.
Look folks, in the past few years, I’ve been laid off twice, seen my 401k decimated and realized that I won’t have the same “retirement” as my parents. I’m just a shulb who’s in a dead-end job trying to make a living. If the GOP fails in these endevors IT WILL BE AN “ATLAS SHUGS” MOMENT FOR ME.
I’m just mad and blowing off steam. All of this hype and promises from the GOP to “set things” right is starting to become hollow to me. At this moment, only the states seems to want to fight.
We also need to hold up Gov. Walker to them as the kind of leader we need and want - and demand - who DOES WHAT HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO DO!!!
Thanks for the list. Michele Bachmann urged all of us to take the time to call our reps on this as it is vital this funding does not happen!

Bachmann was blunt. She was saying this is THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY to rid ourselves of ObamaCare. So, either the Leadership thinks differently, believing it can be done away with another way, or they have no stomach for the fight required. Bachmann and King seem to think that adding the language to the CR for defunding ObamaCare means that any defeat of it by Democrats or any veto by Obama would be a government shutdown to save ObamaCare. Food for thought.
Not even three months since they took office, and we have to remind them.

I would like to know if you are doing anything to de-fund ObamaCare? Rep. Michelle Bachmann found 106 Billion in last year’s spending on ObamaCare and I want every penny removed from this year’s budget. I urge you in the strongest way to sign up with the group of fiscally responsible Congressmen led by Michelle Bachman and reign in out of control Federal spending and STOP all fund from going to ObamaCare. This is not easy, I know, but what kind of a country are we leaving for our children?
