Anything in Hilo yet?
I’m waiting for a report on our local radio. All schools closed here, as well as banks and gov. We’re told to stay off the roads. No all-clear yet.
Thanks.
My son lives in Kealakekua and works at Kona Hospital. I have a place along Alii drive. I was wandering about the extent of damage?
We have a ground floor condo on Kaanapali, with an underground parking garage, but I have heard nothing about the conditions on West Maui. Our two weeks are each April
You will all be happy to know that el presidente is going to interrupt his busy schedule to make some remarks about the tsunami.
Yup, Fox News just played boy zero’s remarks. He may as well have said nothing.
Local Hilo radio guy Josh Pacheco and Honolulu NPR reporting: house has washed onto Kealakekua Bay and others along Napoopo Rd as Leowindhorse reported. 8ft wave washed through King Kam Hotel out to the back parking lot. Other waves of 6 & 7 ft reported. Alii Dr pavement torn up. Waves were not fast moving but very powerful.
Now downgraded to tsunami advisory state-wide. I just drove aroungd Hilo - no effect here it seems - all access to bayfront is closed by police at every intersection.
Thanks for updates. I have a lot of friends on Oahu too. Any links to Oahu news appreciated.
Thank You!
