Fresh off their Supreme Court victory allowing them to picket funerals of military soldiers, members of the Westboro Baptist Church have announced plans to picket the funerals of seven Mennonite children killed Tuesday night when their Perry County farmhouse caught fire.
The children, ages 7 months to 11 years, were killed when a fire started in the home while their mother was milking cows and their father was on his milk delivery route.Their three-year-old daughter managed to escape and alert the mother, but the fire had already overwhelmed the wooden structure, police said.
The group from Topeka, Kan., said the death of the children was "just punishment at the hand of an Angry God" displeased with the failure of Pennsylvania residents to heed Westboro Baptist's call to "put away rebellion and obey the Lord your God."
Funeral arrangements for the children have not been announced.
These people are pure evil.
A Louisville radio station offered the nutcases an hour of air time to vent their propaganda if they'd allow the survivors to mourn in peace. They took the station up on the offer (that one hour segment had the lowest audience rating in the station's history) and the surviving family members later met with the head of the station to personally thank him for his actions.
Why can’t someone pass a law making it a minor misdemeanor to thoroughly beat up anyone who is protesting a funeral?

It really makes me shake my head to think about how horribly misguided these people are. I’m not a theology expert, but I’m pretty sure Jesus doesn’t want his gospel spread by mean-spirited finger pointing. In fact, I think there were big chunks of a whole book in the New Testament written about a disfunctional church (Corinthians, maybe?).
They chose another conservative target. Never a gay pride parade, for instance. If I lived nearby I would picket the picketers, exposing them for the Democrat-donating posers they are. Probably a big sign with an arrow pointing to them saying “Democrat Donors” or a blue D logo circle saying “Posers”. Use your imagination. Exposing them as the liberal Dems they are is the way to shut them up.
You know, there is a lot of road between Kansas and wherever these children will be buried. Driving in bad weather and especially at night is a really dangerous job. People get sleepy behind the wheel during long boring drives. Sometimes things just happen.......

As tempting as it would be to beat these evil people to within an inch of their lives, I think it would be better to pound on God’s door and ask Him to intervene. And you are exactly right, God will NOT be mocked. Nor hold his anger forever. They will fall, a sudden calamity will befall them, with NO escape.
What kind of bravery, protesting at the funeral of true Christians’ children? They’re hardly a group not going to turn the other cheek. Maybe the Phelps family will actually learn something.

I think they’re bankrolled by some bigshot Democrat and charged with ginning up a false concept against Christians. - Ask yourself; why would they have held fundraisers and hobnobbed with fat Democrats when the Democratic Party is just another name for Abortion on Demand if they thought abortion (& homosexuality) was an abomination to God? Homosexuality is also a BIG Democrat “thing”.
Another end game is to have them tweak the noses of conservatives until they cause riots. It will only get more and more ridiculous until they do.
