I am writing this as I am watching The Congressional Hearings on the Radicalization of Islam for the third time. And I have to say that it is you liberals that have given me the final remedy for my sickness of being a 911 Truther/Patriot and conspiracy buff.

But ironically now that I am cured, I have a new sickness to battle and it is the leftist/liberal ideology and world-view. Michael Savage is right! I used to think it was just over-inflated and hyperbolic rhetoric to call “Liberalism a Mental Disorder” but now I believe it is true. And it is truly “Your disease that is killing me”.

Can we believe that the left is just blind, even willfully? I think not! It appears they know what they are doing and holding true to the definition of liberalism, they are striving hard to get rid of the old and to bring about a new world order of things. It’s not just the power elite of the world we must fight but the ideology they peddle and push.

Hi fr,,, can you explain to me what is wrong with that?

I am under the impression that if your posting collages of other peoples material to your blog your supposed to post in the bloggers forum. But I think when you write your own stuff, even though it is published on your blog, it is OK to post outside of the bloggers forum. Am I wrong about that?

Bloggers can post full copy articles - not excerpts - in the bloggers forum. Posting excerpt of your own blog and driving people away from the FR site is considered blog pimping and is severely frowned upon around here.

This kind of abuse is unfair to our volunteer donors that keep FreeRepublic.com running.

Let me ask this. My articles center point was Saliva’s video “Your Disease”. Is there a way to post videos here? And what do I do in this case where the video makes the emotional impact and I want the video included. Should I just not post those kind of post or is there a place to post them?

Not to seem difficult but the text from Jim you posted confused me because I don’t think I did a “click-through marketing attack” (is that where people try to get you to their blogs to make money off advertising?).

You cannot post videos directly on FR. I'm pinging humblegunner to this post who can help you with video links as I don't know if there is something special about them or not. He does them all the time. I might learn something, too.

Because the vast majority of blogger want FReepers to click through to their blogs to get blog hits for which they are paid, we consider this blog pimping and require that bloggers not excerpt their work. You may not get paid for blog hits but we can't maintain an endless list of who does or doesn't do this so we have just the one rule. OK?

Regarding the video embedded on the blog:

At the bottom right of the embed screen you’ll see an option to “watch on Youtube”.

Click that, the video opens in Youtube.

Copy the url that appears in the address bar.

Paste it here.

yeh, that would be a big mess and headache. I can understand that and will gladly follow this guideline and will not post excerpts for my articles..

One more question for you. If you went to my blog you will see some of the text in the article are hot links linking off to articles or videos about that specific subject matter. Can I put at the top,,”Some of the text are hot links”,, hoping others will go to the blog and click on those links or do I need to do html to make hotlinks here?

I’m not sure what you mean by embed screen but I am assuming that your talking about the editor here at FR. I’ll do a mock post, but not post it, to test what you said here and see if I can figure it out.

I acted like I was going to make a post and did not see an “Embed Screen”.

I guess I could just post a URL to the video but would prefer to embed the videos here for convenience to the reader.

I know that on a WP blog, if you have a pluggin, you can use a short code such as [youtube example] or [youtube=URL] to embed videos on the blogpage.

Can you tell me exactly what embed screen your talking about (are you talking about on youtube?) and where I can find it?

Embedding is not possible.

I don't really see how embedding is more convenient than a link.
It's more pleasing graphically but that's about it.

When you embed a video on a blog, it manifests as a "screen shot"
of the video, usually with a control or two. With Youtube vids,
one of these controls allows you to play the video on Youtube which
will provide he direct link to the video.

Pauly,,, I was confused about what I was (politically) for a long time. I knew I was more conservative than liberal but had a bad taste in my mouth for all things political. From what I have learned about Liberalism, during my study of Islam, I am far far away from those guys.

I’m not sure I will start calling myself a Republican (just because I am going to vote that way), I’ll have to study the party more, but I feel I am on my way to that.

This is a conservative site, not a republican site, but you'll find that out quickly enough. Republicans are, on the whole, more like democrats than conservatives are. Constitutional Conservatives really hew to the constitution. If the stuff you post doesn't do that you'll hear about it for sure!

This is a rough and tumble place and there's no place better.
