WELLINGTON, New Zealand China has asked New Zealand to consider special compensation to parents of Chinese students killed in an earthquake last month because their loss was magnified under China's one-child policy. Seven Chinese students have been identified among the 166 confirmed deaths in the quake that devastated Christchurch city on Feb. 22, and as many as 20 are still missing.
Chinese Embassy official Cheng Lei said Monday that Chinese quake victims had lost not only their only child but also a future breadwinner.
He said New Zealand should consider providing additional financial assistance to those families.

How do you say “chutzpah” in Chinese.
I think the Chinese have an excellent understanding of liberal stupidity. Why not ask? The liberal morons sure to be found in every government may just pay it. Same with the city of Baghdad asking for compensation from the US for war damage to the city. With Obama at the helm, nothing is too stupid to ask for.
China operates by the following “rules and demands”:
We are a developing country so we can pollute all we want.
We are a developed country whose currency should be the world’s standard.
We restrict Chinese families so you should pay us.
We have a huge population so you should give us the Olympics (the most polluted one ever).
You have a smaller population than us so you should allow us to control your ports.
North Korea is an impoverished country who must be financially supported by the West.
If you want our influence in North Korea you must not trade with Taiwan.
We cannot control North Korea and are not responsible for her actions.
North Korea is our friend and you must not offend her.
The short-sightedness of their own immoral policy bites THEM in the BUTT and they want NZ to pay?! Oh, how I LOATHE Communists.
The fear is that - with their massive military build-up - they will one day add the following rule to their repertoire:
We are the center of the world (China's name for itself), and you will do as you're told. Or else...
Why is NZ paying anything to Chinese citizens??? They didn’t win a lottery.
Whoa! ....
this is (very) interesting, the many consequences of
Red China's One Child policy.
why all the concern, about your Citizens' (male) children?
oh..sooo sorry, about all the children you aborted since
Mao's Great Leap Forward, those many decades ago.
(IIRC) they have a "Yes, You may...." policies.
...instead of saying "NO!" to everything:
You may work @ your assigned gov. job.
You may sleep @ your assigned hovel.
You may eat meagerly.
You may study (permitted) subjects in school.
You shall pay any fines / levees / any price placed upon you.
There are various ways.
Yu Dum Duk.

How does one say “pound sand” in Mandarin?
China has all the money right now. If any compensation is due Chinese people, China must pay it.
You killed a lot of future American breadwinners in Korea. Some of those breadwinners had friends and relatives who helped liberate your sorry communist asses from Japanese occupation. And, because of your support of the NORKS, you doomed a whole nation to poverty and starvation. You killed a lot of future breadwinners during your cultural revolution. Never in the course of human history have so many owed so much compensation to so many. In short - ESAD!
perhaps China should consider instead paying the families of the political and religious prisoners imprisoned by the Chinese government first? after all, those families, including many Christians and Tibetians, also lost ‘breadwinners’ (not to mention land and assets).
I hope the kiwi’s tell them to stick where the sun doesn’t shine.
China sent how much help to New Zealand after their earthquake?
This provides a very good indicator of the sort of people the US elites have chosen to provide such tremendous economic opportunity over the past few decades, which has also included priceless technology transfers to the Red Chinese, and decades of turned heads to the Chinese theft of intellectual property, industrial espionage, counterfeiting of US products, etc., etc.Anti-free trade protectionist!
I suppose energy independence will be the next thing you protectionists will want. < /sarcasm >
CHINA’S RULES

So how is this different from the U.S.?
Ditto!
I keep asking this for over a decade now: what will this country do if California become an island? My faith in this country was so unshakable that I would have previously answered this question by saying that the country would be OK; that this nation always rises to a great challenge and its economy is very strong.
The faith was shaken by Sep 11, when one half of Americans said that we ourselves are at fault, that Sepp was "chickens coming home to roost." If Sep 11 couuld split the nation like this, would it come together after a natural disaster?
And the increasing debt told me a few years back that we might be unable to borrow our way out of a disaster. After Obama's deficits, I know that we'll be unable to do so.
So I do pray that no huge disaster happens soon, whether in California or Midwest. If it does that would also be an ideal crisis for the Leftist to consolidate power --- all the way to the marshal law.
You are right, of course, that displacements of plates such as that in Japan don't usually happen only in one place. LIke you, I would not be surprised to see another serious earthquake --- in California, Midwest, Central America, Turkey or Iran. South America is possible, of course, but some tension has already been relived in the Chilean earthquake. Hope I am wrong and all goes well.
*sigh*....Its becomin' more and more real every passin' day.
