This is how President Barack Obama’s trip to Latin America, which is scheduled to begin Friday, is shaping up:

• BRAZIL — Here the emphasis is expected to be on business and forging a relationship for the future.

U.S. officials say Obama will stress Brazil’s growing role in the world economy. Not only is Brazil expected to be the world’s fifth largest economy by 2016, the year Rio hosts the Olympic Games, but there have been recent, massive discoveries of deep-water oil reserves. Infrastructure projects leading up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil also are expected to create opportunities for U.S. business.

“It will be a recognition that we look at Brazil very differently from the way we looked at Brazil 10 years ago. He will recognize the evolving nature of the relationship with Brazil,” one U.S. official said.

On Saturday, the president will meet with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff in the morning and later attend a state lunch at the Foreign Ministry.

but there have been recent, massive discoveries of deep-water oil reserves

This man destroys the American drilling industry, then flaps his jaws about how important Brazil is to the world's economy, and the U.S. economy, because it has massive deep-water oil reserves.

0barfarama stinks. He helps Brazil get a $2 billion dollar loan from the Exim bank to drill twice as deep as Deepwater Horizon for Brazil’s state owned oil company while telling us it’s too dangerous to drill in the GoM.

South America is important to us. His agenda is generic. One on one with bambi will most likely make you lose respect for the man. The Nation, however, is separate.

“Obama is expected to devote part of the day to family time but it is possible he will make a major address in Rio.”

He’s taking the Yeti? Why? I’ve never seen her golf. She won’t fit in at the gay bath house.
And there’s the WH vegetable garden. Who’s going to brush the frost from the rhubarb?
This article raises more questions than it answers.

Yes, South America is important to us. But it’s ridiculous for him to drive our oil industry out of the Gulf of Mexico and then fawn all over Brazil because it took our rigs -— btw, with a huge loan spurred on by Obama!

If you suspect my agenda is restoration of a Constitutional republic, yes.
