The baby who was hours from being pulled off life support at his Canadian hospital has been rescued by the national director of Priests for Life and taken to the U.S. for treatment.
Thirteen-month-old Joseph Maraachli, who is currently kept alive by a respirator and was recently denied a transfer to a Michigan hospital to undergo a tracheotomy, arrived in the U.S. early Monday morning with Fr. Frank Pavone and other Priests for Life staff.
"Priests for Life staff toiled through the night for many nights, working in concert with dozens of people to make this possible," Father Pavone said in a statement. "Now that we have won the battle against the medical bureaucracy in Canada, the real work of saving Baby Joseph can begin."
Maraachli was on his way to SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo., a non-profit health-care facility open to all children in need of medical care.

All his parents needed to do was cross the border illegally and they could have gotten all the free medical care for their baby easily. What the hell, the Mexicans do it all the time!!
Reminds me of the underground slave rescue efforts of abolitionists before the Civil War.

Great story. Amazing to hear so many dedicated people fought against a machine bent on ending this childs life. I will pray for this childs survival!

I was just thinking the same thing. I am going to offer some financial support to Priests for Life.
Forgive the posting to Breaking, but we need some good news with Nuclear Reactors possibly melting down, and aircraft carriers being repositioned because of radioactive fallout...
One Canadian [medical] doctor was inflamed at the prospect of removing the breathing tube from the baby while the baby was alive.
He had never heard of such a thing, but yet he might have been ordered to do that.
This story needs more attention. Period.
I’ve been donating to Priests for Life for years. They’re a great group, doing God’s work on behalf of the most vulnerable among us.
There are no death panels, I also had this confirmed to me on MSNBC/Morning Joe
