I resent their tone when they talk about people who have “given up looking for work”. It is reminiscent of the “jobs American’s won’t deeewww”. What it means is people who have looked for jobs, who KNOW there AREN’T any jobs so they’re not looking, but as soon as they hear about people being hired through the grapevine, they WILL be looking for jobs. And don’t get me started on the people who are working on a cash basis.

Are these the economists and WSJ that so deftly predicted this whole financial debacle?

No. These are the ones who said that the recession ended in June, 2009.

Somebody's always predicting something

So... let me get in the act.

I predict: "If things don't change they'll stay the same".

How about this. If the unemployed number is worse than that Democrats will win in a landslide believing they are being screwed by Republicans.

I think you meant, "lose in a landslide...", correct?

Wide-eyed optimists, more optimistic than gov't projections in fact.

I fully expect Obama to win reelection. He just needs to show up. It won't matter how bad things are or who is run by the GOP.

oh really? and will the ‘lower unemployment’ also come with an increase in the number of people with jobs?

or just less people looking for work?
