Japan has asked the United States for additional equipment to help provide water and other resources to keep quake-damaged nuclear reactors cool, the head of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said on Monday.

I’d say it doesn’t matter what they need. Give it to em.
Yep and additional yet, which means some has already been sent.
They had to ask?
Let’s see... One aircraft carrier ought to do it, only the Pentagon won’t expose sailors to minimal radiation dangers. After all, the aircraft carrier can provide whatever power is needed, has massive pumps on board, etc. But risking the USS Reagan isn’t in the cards.
Exactly.
We said we’d help them and we are.

No we offered first.
Just the tone of the post, made it sound like we should hold it against them or something.
Meanwhile, people are golfing, shopping, dining out, etc in other parts of Japan. Americans seem more worried via the news media than the Japanese. Also reported cleanup had already begun.
...that’s us.
A message found on the WH answering machine.
Just getting tired of people acting like we made them beg when we offered help shortly after the quake occurred.
A partial or full meltdown of a nuclear reactor is a very serious situation, and everyone should be taking it as such. I think Americans just want to keep the pressure on our own government to make sure that we are doing all that can be done to help.
...no kidding.
Not my intention, just don’t think we should lord it over them. After katrina we didn’t accept help the first time people offered.
They probably didn’t know what they needed besides water, food, and some choppers.
Who is lording it over them? I haven’t seen anything like that.
That's gonna have to wait.
God help us.
