You can stop worrying about a radiation disaster in Japan--Here's why.

I repeat, there was and will *not* be any significant release of radioactivity from the damaged Japanese reactors.
By "significant" I mean a level of radiation of more than what you would receive on - say - a long distance flight, or drinking a glass of beer that comes from certain areas with high levels of natural background

36 hours ago that’s a long time ago considering how fast things have developed.
To: TheBattman
I searched for the title and came up empty.
Perhaps the admin will pull this one.
Thanks!

Glenn Beck did a good job on his show tonight explaining how these things are built, and what we were seeing explode. I do feel a whole lot better. Still the safeguards of keeping people away so they are not exposed to the smaller amounts of radiation is probably a good thing. It’s sickening watching the MSM even Fox blowing it way out of proportion.
To: Bigun
Nuclear science is not his area of expertise. A degree from MIT is not a license for credible commentary on any subject. Events over the last 1.5 days (after the article was written) make him look like a monumental douche.

He probably has not changed his opinion since there is absolutely zero evidence, at least that I have seen, that containment of any reactor has been lost.
These “journalist” have absolutely no idea about that which they are talking.

Yeah, watching NHK TV (English) online..............things are going south fast. Sounds like one containment vessel is compromised exposing the core to the atmosphere and an uncontrolled melt down is underway. So much for this guys commentary.
To: Bigun
What about the 400 mSv rad level detected outside of reactor #3? And I heard a report that pressure levels in the containment vessel unexpectedly dropped. Doesn’t that suggest a breach?

OK, I admit that I haven’t read the whole article. But, I will say that I am not about to “stop worrying”. This is a bad situation and we’re in some uncharted waters here.

At 10:22 pm a reading of 400 milli-Severts were detected outside Reactor #3 building. A reading of 100 milli-Severts was detected near reactor #4 building. Reported by a Japanese official in charge of Emergency live to the Japanese people.
Also it has been reported that Spent Fuel Rods in #4 reactor are on Fire and they need to be put out to stop radiation leaking.
To: Bigun
Give it another day and a half.

Obama is *kicking* himself over this, and I'll bet (tinfoil hat
ON) that he is planning with Axelrod, Plouffe, and the rest, how to generate a meltdown here in order to give himself an excuse for emergency powers.
Or, feeding select information from the networks on the Japanese situation to certain groups to show them how to instigate a crisis for him.
(He'd use HAARP, but he's still trying to decipher Cheney's handwritten notes for the weather-control machine first...)
(tinfoil hat OFF).
Cheers!
