Someone already said it, and better than I would have because they listed precedents that led to it, but ‘The Great Society’. Its effects didn’t begin a general nationwide downward trend until the time of the Nixon administration which eventually resulted in his loss of office, despite Nixon’s best efforts.

The peak of American civilization was at the time of the Apollo program, as I see it. It’s not going to be easy but we can be great again. We might have to first think about who ‘we’ are though.

I’m certainly not the historian that you are but I think the collusion that was needed to start the United Nations was a big stepping stone. The Communists realized their mistakes from the League of Nations, corrected that and haven’t slowed down since.

I’d say it was when the Bill of Rights was included as mere amendments instead of immutable laws.

Ah... but they weren't.
Those rights were NOT granted by the Constitution or any government.

They were simply added in writing to explicitly remind the megalomaniacly bent.

That is has failed its purpose is a failure of language and will.
