1456: Tepco says it may start pouring water from a helicopter over Fukushima Daiichi's reactor four in the next few days, to cool the spent-fuel pool.
1439: A 30km (18 mile) no-fly zone is in place around Fukushima, says the IAEA.
1436: The IAEA says Monday's blast at Fukushima may have affected the integrity of the containment vessel - there are fears of more serious radioactive leaks if happen.
1435: Following earlier reports, it appears there has been more than one strong aftershock in Japan - AP reports two tremors measuring over 6.0 within three minutes of each other.

The LA Times says a tsunami is unlikely in So Cal because there is no subduction zone here.

Thats about when the Juan de Fuca quake occurred.
All this talk about the Cascadia Subduction Zone...frightens the Hell out of me. I LIVE near the CSZ. I am just south of Tacoma. If the CDZ lets go, I’ll DAMN sure know it.
Granted, I do not live along the coast, nor near a body of water, so tsunamis are definitely not a worry. But an earthquake would almost certainly cause damage where I live.
I just hope I’m not around to see it happen.
Oh, and all the fires from oil wells set on fire during the first Gulf War were going to block out the sun for years.
had a couple 2’s in the last few days - one was 3.9 yesterday. Was also a 5 in africa of all places yesterday and some 2-3s in Tonga over past few days.
