Schumer taunts Boehner again: Democrats saved you from the Tea Party
YahooNews (The Daily Caller) ^ | 3/16/2011 | Chris Moody

Top ranking Democrat Sen. Charles Schumer doubled down on his call for House Republican Speaker John Boehner to ditch the Tea Party after Democrats helped pass a short-term federal funding bill that would have failed without their support because of defections within the GOP.

“Speaker Boehner wouldn’t have been able to pass this short-term measure without Democratic votes, and he won’t be able to pass a long-term one without Democratic votes either,” Schumer said in a statement. “It’s time for him to abandon the Tea Party, and forge a bipartisan compromise.”

Mr. Boehner, you may ignore the TEA Party at your own peril. We are pi$$ed and we are watching. Our message is simple. “Take This Country Back”.

Sounds like Speaker Boehner is now going to have to choose sides, or maybe Republicans are going to have to choose sides, or maybe the government is going to be shut down, or maybe chuck has gone all in on the wrong side or maybe...

One can only hope and pray that the parties in question are sly like a fox, and choose wisely, because there is a large manure field just waiting for the first misstep. Do I put my faith in the American people? The same people that keep reelecting Chuck and his cohorts in the Senate.

No it’s not. If Obama and Co can use totally unconstitutional methods, We can use Constitutional methods to defang them. Never forget that the People are the Country and the Government. What the elites want means nothing compared to what the People’s Freedom dictates. The 2nd Amendment becomes more significant every day.

Not just Boehner but Cantor and Ryan too.

This was a good vote. A clear vote. None of this “I voted for cuts before I voted for spending.” Ryan and Boehner could have had more cuts, if they wanted. They just wanted to get along with the Democrats more.

Schmucky Schumer knows how the DC echo chamber works and he is simply turning up the volume. Boner and Can’tor don’t have the balls or the necessary mental earplugs to do the work we sent them for. Being that Boner is Gingrich’s favorite since he was speaker, expect nothing less than for him to give up when the going gets tough.

Again, it goes to show it is a shame that the most capable people we sent there to “git-er-dun” wear skirts, with a few notable exceptions like Allen West. BTW, where the hell is McConnell hiding these days? Geez, what a limp putz.

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

This is no less valid today that it was back then.

“Speaker Boehner wouldn’t have been able to pass this short-term measure without Democratic votes, and he won’t be able to pass a long-term one without Democratic votes either,” Schumer said in a statement.

Funny how this argument never applies to all the situations of the past when Republicans helped Dems pass legislation over the objections of Democrat extremists.

Like the 1960s Civil Rights Acts.

Boehner better wise up or he will be on the scrap pile along with asses like Schumer before to long.
Americans are sick and tired of this politicsal crap. We are free falling down the shithole ALL because of politics.
The Government spend WAY TOO MUCH on WAY TO MANY THINGS that it has NO BUSINESS spending money, OUR MONEY, on.
Wise up politicians or you can become unemployed like so many American citizens are.

In reality, the taunting by Schumer and other Dems is just craven political spin.

Actions speak louder than words, and the actions here are that the Dems helped prevent a government shutdown. Even though many of the pundit talking heads say such would be in their best interests.

Hmmmmmmm ... could it be that what Chuckie is really doing here is trying to cover for the tacit acknowledgment (through action, not words) that Dems are scared of the consequences (possible blowback onto THEM) of a shutdown?
