The officer should have drawn his weapon and made the undercover guy identify himself. He escalated the situation as soon as he jumped on him and tried to take the rifle. We will see a lot more of this if Holder gets his way and dumbs down police examinations even more then they already are.

And make the guy identify himself? Should his identity as a cop make a difference? What “situation” did he escalate? I don’t think there was a situation. Just a guy with a rifle slung over his shoulder.
