Some people just can’t let go. I know folks who will be carried out of their offices feet first.
Why do you think it retired in the first place? Maybe something like a disability or I wonder if the department may have made a recommendation? To me, a retired officer is a regular citizen. Do they have experience? Yes, but no longer arrest powers. IMHO
