W.H. responds to bracket gripes

Mike Viqueira of NBC News asked White House press secretary Jay Carney whether today was really the best time for President Obama to make time for college basketball brackets, with the crisis in Japan still escalating.

"Is it entirely appropriate for the president to be addressing a crisis of this gravity as he's standing before a whiteboard talking about the basketball tournament?" Viqueira asked.

Carney was clearly waiting for him.

"There are crises all the time," he said, "for every president."

Well at least he didn't call Viqueira racist for stereotyping Obama as a black man obsessed with basketball.

"There are crises all the time," he said, "for every president."

And never before in history has America had a president who was so inept and unable to fulfill the duties of his office.

I think Obama needs to send the best experts at his disposal like James Cameron who single-handedly solved the Deep Sea Horizon catastrophe and Jimmy Carter the nuclear engineer who put yellow booties on to inspect 3 Mile Island right after the accident there...or in other words, we are all better off today and tomorrow because Obama picked NCAA brackets instead of trying to solve a problem.

Remember how the Democrats lamented the fact that 9-11 happened on W's watch, so he "got a chance to show leadership," something that "Bill Clinton never had a chance to do."

Now here's Obama, with his pick of major, major, heavyweight, world-historical type crises, any one of which a "real leader" could sink his teeth into and go down in history as a hero.

But Obama's not going down in history.

He's going down to Rio.

Not one crisis among the buffet of disasters we have unfolding around the world is "the right kind of crisis" for Obama.

If/when something really big and really bad happens in the United States, who among us actually believes that Obama is going to say "well, OK, I can't put it off any longer, gotta put on my hero suit and solve this problem cause it's my own country, my own people, the people who honored me by electing me to be President, and, as shy as I am about showing off my awesome problem-solving powers, I just can't take a powder on this one." Who really thinks that's going to happen.

When it happens, if it happens, Obama is going to find a reason to skip town for a "previously scheduled round of meetings." You know it and I know it.

And the MSM will be right there, making up excuses faster than the speed of sound.

To me, the White House reaction is about as idiotic as Obama’s actions.

ST - Leave him alone!

Don't you know he is focused like a laser on jobs? How much more is he supposed to do? He works 10AM to 2:30PM Monday thru Friday! He needs his weekends to recharge just like all of us!

Not only that, in case you haven't noticed, there are super huge gender bias issues in this country that are much more awesomely important than some leaking nuclear reactors in China. I for one applaud his coolness under the withering fire of American racism!

I am horrified by these people. I am embarrassed for my country because of these people. I am scared for our future because of these people.

It never ends, the hits just keep on coming! Appalling!

Wow. You're a h3ll of a patriot. You live in one of those non-existent zip codes that all the stimulus money went to, don't you?

Carney was clearly waiting for him.

This means the White House people know that this "NCAA bracket" nonsense has made the goofball Obama look like even more of a juvenile knucklehead than usual.

I think that was a joke. Did you get the part about he works from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday?

Yes I recognized it as a joke and was playing along. I should have used a sarcasm tag I guess since you were confused. Sorry.

Put the crack pipe down and step away from the keyboard slowly - your on a trip.

If Obama were anymore removed from the problems facing us and the world he would be in a coma!

Maybe he is YOU .. and By the way ..the “some leaking nuclear reactors in China.”

is in Japan and it is in full meltdown, Much like Obama’s presidency
