That dude's Jewish. I mean, come on. He could be Harvey Weinstein's old man. Type "Harvey Weinstein" in to Google Images and tell me I'm wrong. Here's a link.

He looks more like Robert Zimmerman (aka Bob Dylan)

Just what is it Ronald Reagan wouldn’t allow? The leader of a country could only be expected to keep rebels from over taking the country and killing him. Just who is it that you think we should back in a Hamas organized rebellion?
I don’t have a horse in this race but I perfectly understand why Gaddafi would want to destroy those that are trying to kill him.
Gaddafi has been peaceful for the last 30 years I don’t know who I should feel sorry for but I don’t think a Hamas led revolt would do the united States any good.

It will all be over soon. Gaddafi and his sons will have one of the few “relatively” stable governments left in the Middle East. The people left alive in his country will know better than to mess with him. It’s a shame the leadership in Egypt didn’t have enough sense to do the same thing as Gaddafi.

There will likely be a number of European leaders and the US who will be sorry for their pro rebellion comments. I expect Gaddafi to punish them someway.

It looks like the left is not only comfortable with its authoritarian perspective at home but how it works with other authoritarian regime.Business as usual,it is a shame;I do believe the rebels will win out given time.

Thanks NormsRevenge.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called for an immediate ceasefire by all parties and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the United States hoped for a U.N. Security Council vote aimed at ending Libya's conflict "no later than Thursday." ..."many different actions" were being considered not just a no-fly zone. The United States, Russia, China, Germany, India and other council members are either undecided or voiced doubts about the proposal for a no-fly zone being proposed by Britain and France. In Geneva, former French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner lambasted the international community for its delay in imposing a no-fly zone, saying it was too late to save lives... "We've known since three weeks that the poor civil society, the poor people, are dying. And we are doing nothing,"
So, how long have the Israelis been getting murdered by terrorists sponsored by Arab and other Moslem governments? Libya and the Libyans? Please.

To those who advocate schwacking Gaddafi:

1. What’s our national objective should we intervene in Libya?
2. So Gaddafi’s the enemy. Who is our indigenous “ally?”
3. Are we prepared to open the floodgates of a plethora of tribes shooting at each other, descending the country into total chaos, not unlike Somalia?
4. If the “no fly zone” fails to achieve its objective — a slowdown of the Libyan Army — then what? Are we ready to move units of Marines in country to engage the Libyan regulars directly?
5. With our federal budget miles deep in red ink, do we really want to slide yet further into debt for Libya?
6. Finally, and most important... Are we truly willing to put America’s troops’ lives on the line for a murky objective, with no exit strategy, with no discernible indigenous allies, with extremely restrictive ROEs, with OBAMA AS CINC?

Some things are now unreachable for us. We don’t have the numbers of troops or the power projection we once had. Time for someone else to do the heavy lifting this time.

I do believe the rebels will win out given time.

How do we know that's a good thing. They're backed by al-Qaeda. That fact alone gives me pause.

Abraham Lincoln had United States soldiers do much the same as Ghadaffi. Do the names Vicksburg or Atlanta ring any bells? They weren’t the only ones.

This is a civil war. They suck. That doesn’t mean we should involve ourselves.

If it gets the Italian’s and the Frenchmen’s panties in a bunch, let them handle it. It is no concern of ours.

Ditto.

REALPOLITIK, folks. It isn’t pretty, but as America’s power wanes, we have to take the best deal we can. In this case, it’s dealing with the devil we know. That that devil is Gaddafi.

Well and bravely said, JAKraig! Perhaps the Google generation will learn not to encourage crowds of young, inexperienced “rebels” to begin a rebellion they can’t possibly win and then depend on their Facebook friends to send in the troops.

I think America is doing a noble and good thing in Japan and in Haiti. That is the kind of country and people we are. But when it comes to our President arbitrarily picking out leaders of other nations whom he thinks should “step down”, that’s over the line. We ousted Saddam Hussein for the Iraqi people in a short time. But now, years later, we are still trying to teach them to govern themselves and that with questionable results.

Why would any leader of another country abandon his rule just because we say so? Who’s next, the Queen? Sweet talk and pycho analysis doesn’t always achieve law and order. Our own country is presently a prime example of that! I don’t know of any army in history that has been made up of Social workers but we may just be the ones to try it. That’s why our Border Patrol and Police Force are armed with rubber bullets and tasers while the criminals and illegals have AK-47s! I think I know who’s winning but that’s just me.

What’s the difference between a “rebel fighter” and an “insurrectionist”?

So the liberal elite eats steak and lobster, sets up meetings and committees and makes all kinds of meaningless votes while a ruthless dictator butchers innocent people.

I guess there is something to be said for American Unilateralism eh? :)

By the time these guys figure out what to do, the fighting in Libya will be years over....

It looks like Gadhafi took some of that oil money and bought one of Johnny Carson’s old prop microphones at a celebrity auction.

Ronald Reagan would not have allowed this to happen. Sickening.

Oh please. If this country keeps listening to the likes of you on foreign intervention, we'll be involved in every bush war, backwater battle and border skirmish on the planet until we turn into a backwater ourselves through insolvency and exhaustion.

Is this the same Quadaffi that Barak pleaded with,
urged, to stand down?

Now the guy who Barak told to get out is back.
How idiotic is that?

So you think Reagan would have just ignored the times that Gaddafi had attacked and killed Americans?
I think not.
