The AFP’s wrong on two points:
1. Palin isn’t ultra conservative. She’s conservative.
2. Palin will be in the Far East first - Saturday night in India - and is visiting Israel on her way home.
That’s not to say she might not go to Japan; as Alaska’s gov she had major trade dealings with Japan and in fact, wrote a letter to the Obama admin in early 2009 when they tried to shut down some flights from Japan to AK. Can’t remember the details. But Japanese Loooooovve to vaca in AK, and the shutdown would’ve put a huge dent in AK tourism $$. So Gov Palin stepped in and got the policy changed.
Plus, she’s scheduled to speak in Naples, FL March 23, so no time for a Far East trip after Israel.
