Palin is going to Israel as a private citizen of the United States of America. Thousands of other Americans have visited Israel, and many, including my own father has met with and spoken with Israeli officials.
The Logan Act has absolutely NO business in this discussion.
I believe that countless thousands of Americans have visited foreign countries, and have conversed with officials of varied level from those countries.
As a 19 year old sailor I had a short conversation with a Japanese gentleman who turned out to be a local official. Where did I go in violation of any law?

Please let me know when Palin is no longer a private citizen. Let me know when she is negotiating with other countries.

Frankly, I don’t mind bursting your “bubbles” or the “bubbles “ of any PDS’er. What she is doing has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Logan act.

Just being “objective”.... LMAO

UPDATE

In a statement obtained by ABC News, Palin said, “I'm thankful to be able to travel to Israel on my way back to the U.S.,” Governor Palin said. “As the world confronts sweeping changes and new realities, I look forward to meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the key issues facing his country, our ally Israel.”

An official in his office said, "the Prime Minister knows the importance of the US political system."

“TALKING to” and “NEGOTIATING with” are two very different things. pelousy was negotiating. THAT is illegal. Receiving firsthand information for FUTURE negotiations is something else again.
You aren’t being objective, you are being silly.

I don’t think she has time to stop in Japan. She has a speech in Florida next Wednesday (23rd).

The AFP’s wrong on two points:

1. Palin isn’t ultra conservative. She’s conservative.
2. Palin will be in the Far East first - Saturday night in India - and is visiting Israel on her way home.

That’s not to say she might not go to Japan; as Alaska’s gov she had major trade dealings with Japan and in fact, wrote a letter to the Obama admin in early 2009 when they tried to shut down some flights from Japan to AK. Can’t remember the details. But Japanese Loooooovve to vaca in AK, and the shutdown would’ve put a huge dent in AK tourism $$. So Gov Palin stepped in and got the policy changed.

Plus, she’s scheduled to speak in Naples, FL March 23, so no time for a Far East trip after Israel.

Netanyahu is actually building villa nova in Israel, much to bam’s chagrin. Or was ya talkin’ ‘bout basketball and Wildcats and stuff?

What is with people getting political access to foreign leaders?

I didn't like it when candidate Obama was on his "world tour," loathe it anytime Bono pops up and I'm not liking it Palin following their lead.

Sarah Palin needs to stop at the Vatican and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and First Communion from Pope Benedict XVI.

I wish that Sarah would had made a little time to release her NCAA bracket so we could stack it up against the president’s.

She has more important things to do.
