Sandra Bullock donates $1 million for Japan relief
The Scoop ^ | 3-17-11

dra Bullock has donated $1 million to the Red Cross for Japan disaster relief, her rep confirms to Scoop. While other celebrities have made various gestures to encourage donation and raise money, this is the largest known donation made by a celebrity since the 9.0 magnitude earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis.

This isn't the first time that Bullock has risen to the occasion charitably. She was honored for her contributions in rebuilding a New Orleans public school after Hurricane Katrina and last year donated $1 million for earthquake victims in Haiti.

Now there is someone putting their money where their mouth is. I can respect that.

I might not agree with a lot of her personal views, but the lady is a lady—and time-and-again, she does these types of things.

Fantastic, I just hope the R C uses it to do the most good and gives 100% to the Japan cause. I've been trying to find out just how much of the money that is given to the Red Cross is going to the cause and what percentage is drained off for the salaries of the money sucking administration.

Beauty isn’t always skin deep. This lady has inner beauty.

Excuse me for adding this to the Post, but isn’t Pelosi one of the richest women in this country? Where is her donation. Where is Hanoi Jane’s.

As Jesus sat facing the temple offering box, he watched how much money people put into it. Many rich people put in large amounts. A poor widow dropped in two small coins, worth less than a cent.

He called his disciples and said to them, “I can guarantee this truth: This poor widow has given more than all the others. All of them have given what they could spare. But she, in her poverty, has given everything she had to live on.”

Mark 12:41-44

I don’t see eye to eye with her on many things, but she is a class act and walks the walk while almost all of her peers just talk.

I love this women. I love her.....my wife is lucky I met her first.....lol. Seriously she is absolutely incredible. She gave a million to 9/11, a million to New Orleans, and a million to Japan....she may have given to Thailand but not sure. She is so awesome and probably a lib but the great thing is.....nobody knows what her political affiliation is and that is how it should be for all actors and actresses. DON’T ASK/DON’T TELL your political affiliation. lol.

She donates to a lot of charities and causes. I don’t agree with some of them, but it’s her money and she is very generous with it.
