Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee thumped Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, saying the Florida lawmaker should be ousted, according to The State Column.

“Florida needs a conservative United States senator,” Republican Huckabee said in an e-mail to supporters. “By his own actions, it is clear that Democrat Senator Bill Nelson has been in Washington, DC too long.

Huckabee, who now lives in Florida, is one of the front-runners for the Republican nomination for president in 2012.

“Senator Nelson like all of the Democrats up for re-election in 2012 is a large reason our nation is going bankrupt,” Huckabee's e-mail said.

Huckster as President? What a mess, he isn’t up to the job. The US Senate is more his speed. He would be good there

Good for what? I believe the Senate washroom already has enough staff.

Remember Huck=4 dead police officers.

be better for him to run for the senate than Pres. He’d just muddy the water, and would lose badly if he ever got the nomination. Too goody two shoes. Make a nice scoutmaster though.

Be careful about hoping Huck runs for the senate. He’s a big spending, Compassionate Conservative, soft-on-crime, amnesty-loving nanny-stater. I don’t see how you could oppose a Mike Castle and support a Mike Huckabee for Senate unless there was no alternative to the Dem.

Nope, Huckabee moved to the Florida panhandle shortly after being hired by Fox. I figured it was to avoid income taxes.

Thanks for the post...very interesting...there are many of us in Florida that don’t take kindly to carpetbaggers, even if they are from the upper-South. We have some fine Floridians in the wings to take over and put this scheming old fool out to pasture. Incidentally, I received an email from nelson a week ago attempting to explain his vote on healthcare...hilarious! He knows he’s finished!
